New Recipe, C25K Step Back, Rompers???

Thanks you guys! We're SUPER excited about the trips! Yes, that baybay Emma is a DOLL, NY should be awesome (and I will be buggin you NY girls for some tips!) and the Dominican trip should be just what me and Austin need - a b. r. e. a. k.!! We all have lots to look forward to, huh? Love it!

So I get the Hungry Girl email every morning. It's a fave. Yesterday morning a recipe caught my eye. I thought it would be perfect for snacks and was SO excited to make it. I had all the ingredients on hand so here goes the recipe for SEVEN snacks – Big Pigs in a Blanket:

1 package reduced fat crescent rolls (will not use 1 triangle)
7 Hebrew National 97% fat free hot dogs
2 wedges laughing cow cheese
7 dashes garlic powder
3 strips turkey bacon

Excuse the bad photo - my camera was dead and the cord was at work!

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Spray a baking sheet with nonstick spray and set aside. Cook bacon in microwave and dice into small bits. Put bacon bits on a plate. Slightly stretch out one of the triangle-shaped portions of dough. Evenly spread with 1/3 a wedge of cheese, and then sprinkle with a dash of garlic powder. Place hot dog along the base roll it up. Squeeze dough gently to ensure it’s secure around the hot dog. Press dough-wrapped dog into bacon on one side, then set on pan. Repeat 7 times. Press any leftover bacon into tough. Bake for 15 minutes until dough is browned and crispy.

Nutritional information per snack: 153 calories, 12 carbs, 7 fat grams and 3 protein grams.

Review: YUM! Super flavorful and fabulous! I’m a fan. Honestly, I might remove the cheese next time – it was flavorful enough without it.

On to the day – pretty much worked, had honey nut cheerios, worked, and had leftover Mexican with Austin (1 tortilla, chicken, guac, a bit of Spanish rice and 3 chips/cheese dip) for lunch. Then I had a Big Pig in a Blanket, 2 hershey kisses and then it was gym time – time for 28 minutes! It didn’t go as planned. I walked for 3, and then was only able to run for 22 minutes. I walked it out to get 3 miles in 32 minutes burning 197 calories. Then I did abs, then hopped on for 1 more mile taking me to a total of 1 hour and 3 minutes burning 312 calories –not bad!

After the gym, I showered, had two Big Pigs in a Blanket for dinner (hehe love them!) then headed to 5 Seasons Brewery for a drink with Austin and Chris. We had a couple of drinks, hung out, and then headed home and called it a night! I ended up a little high, at 2,041 calories, 194 carbs, 55 fat grams and 79 protein grams. Here’s what I ate.

I leave you with this… a picture of a little get up I grabbed at Forever 21 in their Heritage shop for a mere $10. Now, at the time I thought great! Perfect for over swimsuit, etc., but now I see rompers are in!

They’re like everywhere now (see exhibits A, B and C below). So question of the day: Rompers – yay or nay?

Exhibit A: J. Crew
Exhibit B: Macy's (BCBG)

Exhibit C: Anthro

I saw that HG recipe and it does look good!! I've had her depudged pigs in a blanket before at a party and they were awesome. I love her emails!!

Don't worry about the C25K. Everyone has days when they're just not feelin a run. Some days I go out and can knock out 6 miles no problem, other days I want to stop after 1.

I would never be able to pull off the romper, but on the right body type, I think they're cute.

hi kelly, it's brianne (aka hannah katherine on one of my blogs) - i had to click thru reader just to comment about these rompers. so i'm kind of in love with the jcrew one...not sure if i could pull it off, though. also, so great how you're keeping up with the c25k - even if it's an "off" day :) have a great weekend!

I love the hungry girl emails too!!!
On the subject of C25K, maybe trying a slower pace? I've completed that program 3 times now and the fisrt couple of time I tried running too fast and could not make it through. Slow down your speed and that should help. Once I completed the program, then I began to work on my time. Hope that helps!!

So, with your skinny little butt and legs - you could totally rock the romper. However, this girl (whose body type shall remain nameless and descriptionless) could not rock it...I would look more like the hot dogs pictured above the rompers! LOL!

clearly i was so taken with the rompers that i forgot to tell you - one of the best restaurants i've ever been to is piccolo angelo in nyc - it is soooo good. just grab a reservation. i think i had the manicotti. amazing. the other place i love is max brenner's - basically everything on the menu is chocolate - perfect for a meal or dessert :)

I am not a huge romper fan. However, I am also not good at fashion. I need help :) Have a great weekend!

I LOVE Hungry Girl! I bought her new book and it's amazing! Are you just going to NYC? I'm in Upstate NY, close to Syracuse. Let me know!

P.S. I got the flower pot at Target! Thanks for the comment!

I think the romper just needs to be pulled off with confidence ;) You can definitely rock it! I've never bought one because I feel like it would be too much of a hassle to use the bathroom haha- I'm weird.

Those pigs in a blanket look like something my brother and boyfriend would LOVE! Hope you're having a great weekend!

Ah, I am so jealous of your upcoming trips! You are going to have such an amazing time, which I totally deserve!

Seriously, I feel like running is so unpredictable. Some days I feel great, some days I feel like I can't lift my legs. Just keep at it; you are a rock star!

I like the idea of a romper but I don't think I could pull it off...

Yes, yes, yes! I am wearing a romper right now, how funny is that?! It's one I picked up at Target for $10. I'll have to post it on my blog! ;p

Yours is super cute!!

Also, I was in NY for about a month with the ex over the holidays and we had some excellent eating! I'll have to pass along some names, one that really jumps out at me was this Japanese dessert place with 'the best cupcake in NY.' Yum!
