SYTYCD Photos, Carpooling, The Sash in Action, Back in the Saddle Again

Despite the heavy rain, traffic and lack of sun, yesterday ended up being a good one! I started carpooling with my co-worker/friend Jen who lives super close to me – woo! She picked me up and we set off for work. Guess what? 50 minutes flies by when you’re chitchatting the whole way in! I got into work in a sunny mood, had my muffin and got to work. Stacy was back, so during lunch we walked 4 miles. Back at it again, it felt great! Then it was just more work and another rainy commute until I was eating spaghetti and meatballs with Austin and my mom whilst watching Castle. Bliss. Austin went to his xBox, and me and mom went to Gossip Girl and SYTYCD. She also helped me practice ways to tie my sash, and helped me pick out an outfit for work tomorrow. Yes, I’m 5. hehe LOVE having my mom stay over on Tuesdays! This is the outfit we went with – yes, I’m finally getting to wear the $5 gingham sack dress from H&M that I just KNEW had potential. Thank you sash + square knot for making this happen for me.

And speaking of SYTYCD – here are some pictures from the event last week! And a few Auburn pics sprinkled in from the weekend before last, why not?

Mom, Sis, Me and childhood friend Courtney in town from B'ham!

The fam!

It's Jeanine!!!

Addict dance...

It's Brandon!

Them making fun of the awful Jeanine/Philip folk dance!

One of my favorites- the top 3 boys dance!

It's Phlilip - the way he dances is crazy!

Brandon and Kayla's final dance!

The vampire dance- loved the stage for this one.

Moving on to Auburn - me, T, and Lauren

Game day - boys being interrupted from a heated game of corn hole.

Pike boys circa 9-10 years after rush

Me, Mon and T drinking swee tea vodka

Ah, memory lane! So yesterday I ended up at 1,666 calories, 224 carbs, 39 fat grams and 93 protein grams, not bad considering my not one but TWO mini candy binges and walking 4 miles. Here’s what I ate.

Today I finished up James Patterson’s Sail, I’ll post the review tomorrow!

A couple of questions:

1. Do you listen to audio books?
2. What is the best book you’ve read recently?

Your life seems fun! Be careful with that Sweet Tea Vodka though, it has given me one of the worst hangovers of my life!!

The last book that I read that I enjoyed (although the ending was a bit predicatable) was Sarah's Key.

Way to go on the carpooling. It has to be nice to have a coworker live close to you so you guys can do that.

My favorite book that I read recently was Time Traveler's Wife. I was so depressed when I finished it because I didn't want it to be over. Waiting for the DVD to come out.

Cute dress--I like :-) And the sash!

I cannot wait till I move closer to my Mom and I can hang out with her again...

I haven't read any books lately-- Well, actually I'm starting the last Twilight book...yes, it took me years, but I just couldn't get into them...but they're not all THAT bad. lol

You and your mom look so much alike! I love to listen to audio books- a lot of times I will get a mystery or a thriller, and only let myself listen when I am working out or cleaning. Hee, that way I am some what motivated to do either!

First off your mom is so pretty!! You guys look a lot alike :)

I looooove me some sweet tea vodka. Wish it didn't have so much sugar! Maybe I could recreate it with unsweet tea and slenda? Hmmm...

Love the outfit! I have never been in to listening to the audio books, but I heard that it can be kind of fun while running so I think I might try it soon!

Wow! You have so many great pictures from SYTYCD! That was SUCH a good show! :)

It was fun helping you pick out your outfit the other night. Took me back to your high school days and days at AU (rush, formals, etc). :)

I think the next book you should read is "The Host" by Stephanie Meyers (Twilight author). It's AWESOME and I own it, so there ya go! ;-)

Let me know and I can bring it to you next Tuesday. :)

Question about the sash: What type of fabric is it? Cotton-like? Satin like? The dimensions are online and I was hoping to re-create it (but cheaper) at the fabric's store. We don't have an AA close by so I was going to have to order. I want to play around with the look before I buy an AA sash.

Thanks!

I love that dress!! So cute!

Audio books are wonderful for long trips. I recently read Happens Every Day by Isabel Gillies. Really sad but really good.

You made that H&M dress so cute!
I just picked up Julie & Julia, but haven't started reading it yet... I've heard mixed reviews on it but I loved the movie!

CUTE DRESS! You defintiely have a knack for making dresses cute!
I have never listened to an audio book, but I was shocked at how pricey that are on iTunes. They would be great for the gym, though!
