Engagement Anniversary, Zach's Birthday, Photo Thoughts

Thanks, chicas! I'm totally going to post more pictures of me in workout clothes! haha You're too sweet - and thanks for the protein feedback. I like the idea of 1 gram per pound - makes sense to me!

Today I’m celebrating two things. One that actually fell on today, and one that fell on Dec. 31, 2009, but that I haven’t mentioned!! The first is today is my brother-in-law’s birthday – happy birthday, Zach!! I hope him and my sis are doing something fun tonight and that I get to celebrate with them soon. The other is my engagement anniversary. Yes, on December 31, 2006, Austin proposed to me in Park City, Utah, on a mountain top during our ski trip!

So weird to see the pictures now! My hand looks NAKED without my wedding band!! Our engagement lasted 14 months – just long enough for us to have the exact wedding we wanted, and long enough for us to DIY everything: programs, moss letters, wish tree, out-of-town newsletter, paper cones, favors, maps, etc.!!
Here's some pics from the wedding taken by the birthday boy!! I think I posted some of these before, but it was a year ago so whateva!

Now we have a pupper. And a house. And we’re at a combined weight loss of 55 pounds! (136 to 121 for me; 205 to 165 for Austin) WOO! I’m loving life and I’m loving being married to Austin. It’s just like when we were dating – only better!!

My 2-year anniversary is coming up quickFebruary 16, 2010. I’m not sure what we’re doing to celebrate, but know we’ll have a blasty as per always!

So, backtracking, today was a pretty good day. I had lots of work to do so that kinda sucked! haha I got up, got ready and worked solid all day. I did take my lunch break to research stainless steel appliances, hitting up Brandsmart and Home Depot, then it was back to the grind fo sho!! Breakfast was random - ham and cheese muffin. Lunch was mustard chicken pasta. I had lots of snacks - granola bar, light babybel and scoops and cream cheese. Yes, I forgot my guac at home so I resorted to cream cheese! hehe Now me and Reubs are back in bed eating popcorn and watching a Lifetime original movie on demand - Secrets of an Undercover Wife. Basically this woman who looks eerily familiar is getting married. On her wedding day her husband is arrested and convicted of murder. She's trying to figure it out - craziness.

BTW - my bro-in-law AKA birthday boy AKA wedding photographer started a blog!! I love his site, but think his blog is much more personal and am so happy he did it!! Check it out if you find the time - i'm kind of obsessed with it. :)

A few questions:

Do you have stainless appliances? If so, what brand? Do you like it??!! I'm leaning towards Maytag!

Do you ever have professional photos done? I thought about getting some family shots this year of me, Austin and Reuben - us with our weight loss and with Reuben (he wasn't in wedding photos). I've also been thinking of doing a trash the dress sesh with Zach!!

P.S. I made a video last night of my putting my fist in my mouth. Wow. I do weird shiz when left alone for too long. I may post it - I know you're on the edge of your seats in anticipation. haha

Congrats on a healthy marriage together!!

I use to work at a place with stainless appliances. I swear i'll never have them...fingerprints.

I had professional pics taken once right before a figure competition. As far as Mike and I we have never had them since we've been married...oops!

So happy for your happy marriage and I love the pictures. My wedding photographer was incredible (too bad the marriage wasn't OOPS haha) and I have a FABULOUS photographer who makes me look AWESOME. Highly recommend doing that.

Beautiful pictures - your wedding looked lovely.

I don't have stainless steel because the fingerprints would drive me nuts. I also don't get professional photos done for my family - I love random shots better.

We have stainless steel appliances. LOVE them and we have Maytag. Can't go wrong.

I think you take the prize for most beautiful wedding and reception. I don't even know you and I was getting all teary eyed here looking at your pix. ha ha! I love the one of you and Austin outside with your bridal party lined up on the wall behind you. So cute! You had more people in your bridal party than we had at our wedding. LOL!

Stainless steel - oh yes - it's a MUST HAVE if only for resale purposes later. I had GE Profile in my old house. Yes - there were finger prints but you wipe them off with Windex and they are gone. It's not a big deal. I have a fridge in my new house that came with the house. It is fingerprint-less stainless steel. It is a awesome. Since you are planning on having kids, I would go for the same kind - fingerprint-less.

Good luck! (I thought you bought a fridge already??)

What? No engagement story? I want to hear the details.

Your wedding looks SUPER classy. I really like the lighted trees.

And congratulations on nearly two years of happy marriage and all that you have accomplished together. :)

I have stainless dishwasher. LG brand. Love it. We're 'slowly' redoing our kitchen, going to all stainless (finger-printless, of course).

Professional Photos: Want to this year.

Gosh, your wedding photos are gorgeous! I love that you have pictures of your engagement too. I do think we need to hear an engagement story too. Mine is boring, so I like to live through others. :)

I love your wedding pictures! So classy!!!

I have to comment on your e-ring *jaw drops* I have actually noticed it in other pics you have posted and been dying for a better look at it!! Im a jewellery fanatic - is it rude if I ask what size it is? I have a round 1.1 carat round brilliant tiffany set solitaire (its not from tiffany but an exact repro). I love engagement rings.... lol! I always tease my husband that I will need a few!

To answer your question from earlier: I am from Conover, NC. That is very funny. Let me know if you ever are coming to visit your dad's family.
