So far, So Wonderful; C25k; Happy Friday – for REALS!

Hi Everyone! THANK YOU ALL for your support, thoughts, prayers and more for Mike! We are so grateful that he came through it and are just hoping for a great recovery! So far, so wonderful. He’s doing well, my mom is there with him and he’s thriving and cracking jokes. We’re so fortunate you guys. :) Fortunate for his successful surgery, our wonderful friends, family co-workers and support systems, and for all of the positivity surrounding us – it’s immeasurable, and fabulous.

Backing up to Wednesday, as you can imagine, exercise was the last thing on my mind and with an 8-hour drive and hospital visit none happened. On the food front, I already had my meals/snacks ready to go for work, so I brought them with me:

Breakfast - muffin pizza + yogurt + 1 dove chocolate

Lunch - chicken hummus wrap

Dinner – easy Thai curry

Snacks: laughing cow wedge + crackers; 3 chips ahoy cookies

I stuck to this, although I gave my sis half the wrap, so I replaced the other half with RF cheez-its, and I added 1 airhead candy and a serving of mini oreos (thanks, Mom!). My carb cravings were out of control (lack of sleep), but it was all good. I ended up at 1,621 calories, 218 carbs, 43 fat grams and 83 protein grams. Here’s what I ate. On the way home I totally channeled Homecookedem when me and Dev stopped at Starbuck’s for green tea – YUM! We drank those the whole way home – what an awesome no-calorie treat. :)

As far as C25K – I updated my sidebar on the left with a link to the workouts I use, some info around how I get my calories (from my HRM!), and the speeds I walk/run at. Let me know if you have any other questions!! And thanks for your support – I’m loving it. I feel STRONG and that’s a great feeling.

Yesterday, I played catch up at work and at home! I worked from home, and hit the gym during lunch, doing my C25K Week 5 Workout 2 again (8 minute run…. 5 minute walk…8 minute run…) then kept on walking taking it to 5 miles in 66 minutes burning 290 calories. Then I raced home, worked more… worked late, did laundry, cooked and got my schedule together for Friday. Then me and Austin settled in and had some wine and a couple of beers. Nice to just sit still and talk and recollect on the past few days together. Then it was shower time, prep gym bag time, pack lunch bag time, etc. I ended up at 1,845 calories, 190 carbs, 42 fat grams and 93 protein grams. Here’s what I ate.

What are you looking forward to this weekend? I’m SO ready for this weekend. I need sleep. I need downtime. I need to chill. I’m pumped for a happy family Friday with Austin and a girl’s sleepover at Shana’s Saturday.

What are you grateful for today? I’m grateful for Mike’s successful surgery and an amazing group of friends and family who have been so supportive, thoughtful and “here.”

Thank you all so much again - I can't say it enough. :) I can't wait to catch up on your blogs tonight - yay!!
