Thanks for your sweet comments - i'm sorry those posts are a little boring/chart-heavy, but thanks for sticking with me! I love to do monthly assessments! To answer a couple of questions - the charts are through Spark People! Spark People also gave me my BMR. It suggested a caloric goal of 1,350 - 1,550, but i found that to be too restrictive for me and that i'm much more comfortable around 1,550 to 1,750 so that's what i'm shooting for. Right now, i'm trying to keep to my workout plan and stay under 1,750 on most days. If this doesn't help with weight loss, i'll probably try to find a net for most days, but for now I haven't set a net. I hope this helps! So far, I think this is helping - I got back down to 119 and feel like i'm steadily losing weight. You know how you can just tell your body is responding? I feel like mine is steadlily exiting the plateau! Backing up now.... :)
Today was a little less crazy. I got to work from home so I got lots done, got a meal in the slowcoker, but I had to go in at 1 p.m. to help set up for a video and shoot a video at 2 p.m. I got back home around 4 p.m., portioned out the new recipe at 5 p.m. and hit the gym! I walked for 4 miles, did shoulders, back and abs, then headed home for a new dinner – another form Gina’s Weight Watchers Recipes – Crock Pot Chicken Taco Soup. Here is the recipe for 10 Servings:
1 white onion, chopped
1 16-oz can black beans, in juice
1 16-oz can kidney beans, in juice
1 8-oz can tomato sauce
1 can corn kernels, drained
2 14.5-oz cans diced tomatoes w/chilies
1 packet taco seasoning
1 tbsp cumin
1 tbsp chili powder
24 0z. (3) boneless skinless chicken breasts
chopped fresh cilantro
5 cups white rice
10 tbsp fat free sour cream
sorry this pic is so similar! It seemed tres different!
Combine beans, onion, chili peppers, corn, tomato sauce, cumin, chili powder and taco seasoning in a slow cooker. Place chicken on top and cover. Cook on low for 10 hours or on high for 6 hours. Half hour before serving, remove chicken and shred. Return chicken to slow cooker and stir in. Spoon over white rice and top with fresh cilantro and fat-free sour cream. Nutritional Information: 389 calories, 65 carbs, 2 fat grams and 22 protein grams.
It was REALLY good, super filling and flavorful. Next time I may use medium or hot on the taco seasonings to give it some more kick, or just add in some diced jalepeno – whatevs. It was great though and I’m glad because making 10 servings of a new recipe is a bit daunting. But I trusted it!
After dinner we headed over to Brooks Brothers to get Austin some new ties, then over to Brandsmart as we’re back on the stainless steel search! I hope to order tomorrow. :) Then it was home, shared miller light and now TV/family time – woo! I ended up at 1,587 calories, 242 carbs, 25 fat grams and 65 protein grams. Here’s what I ate.
So when I was driving back from shooting the video I finished up James Patterson’s Honeymoon.
All I can say is WOW. Such a great mystery, so many twists and turns – it was SCARY. I was seriously like OMG are they going to… yup, they did – wow. I can’t even give a synopsis without giving too much away, but I’ll say there were parallel stories of a ‘tourist,’ a suitcase and offshore accounts, and meanwhile a woman with a past and with desires to murder… crazy cool! I listened to the last CD twice I enjoyed it so much. I highly suggest this and give it a 5/5 – there is nothing I would have done differently!
K – I’m out! I’m SO behind on blog reading so I hope to catch up tomorrow! This weekend we have a birthday party on Friday, Austin has an afternoon poker game Saturday, then Saturday night we have an engagement party (and I had a girl’s night) – so if we go out after the engagement party we may meet up with the girls! Sunday should be slow – thankfully! I hope to get a workout in tomorrow and Saturday – off on Sunday.
Are you working out this weekend?
Do your ankles ever get sore from running? If so, do you take a break?

I am on sparkpeople as well and love it. The recipies, the advice, the charts. Its all great. I've never got sore ankles (unless I play soccer), but I do get sore knees. It was a good choice to just take it easy. You have to listen to your body. Its better to rest than have chronic pain! Saturday I plan to do interval training and weight training and on Sunday I have my soccer game. Hope you get back on your program soon!
The recipe sounds great!
I plan on taking two exercise classes this weekend (which is something I always try to avoid...): a total body workout class and a yoga class.
Happy Friday, and have a great weekend! :)
Mmm, I'm drooling over the recipe. Give me anything Mexican and I'm in love.
Is it the back of you ankle that is hurting? Try standing on a step and letting your heel drop off the back. It's a great stretch!
Good mooorning sunshine! (or afternoon, whenever you're reading this)
I LOVE james Patterson, and would really love to get this book, but I'm so behind on my damn reading! Remember the books: Triptych and last Chance Saloon (I think it was you reading those)? i STILL haven't gotten around to reading them- but oh, I bought them. I need to put this on my To-Do List.
Workouts this weekend: I plan to do P90X Plyometrics and probably some Legs.
I think I need to register for a Crockpot. (oops, I just typed that and forgot to put the "r" in there. Haha.)
I have been slacking on my workouts, so I have to work out today, tomorrow and Sunday.
hey, how do you analyze your recipes... I couldn't find anything on spark people where you can put in your own recipe...
I am going to do a race this weekend. Have a great weekend!
Glad to hear you're feeling good about your weight loss! That book sounds fun...I love crazy plot twists! Happy Friday :)
The recipe looks awesome!
Hey Kelly -
I'm sadly stuck in a plateau myself, it is very frustrating so good job on sticking with it on your plan and getting the pay off of feeling your body come out of it.
Sore ankles - since you're running a lot more, it might be worth going to an actual running store and having them watch your gait. I am a runner and an over pronator. I have to buy a specific type of shoe for stability (all brands design shoes for different running gaits). I love the stretch that Liz suggests too.
Weekend workout: I am running the Disney Princess 1/2 marathon on Sunday, I love love love this event. Its not a PR kind of race, but it is a lot of fun to run with mostly women, princesses and a lot of fan fare.

Hey girl! I love all your charts---and all your recipes. They are always right up my alley!
I am loving that recipe!! And I would add my customary chopped fresh jalapeno - yum!
I took yesterday off of working out to shop for my daughters birthday this weekend, so I have to work out tomorrow to make up for it. :D
Happy Friday!!
Yum, I love those flavors so I bet that soup is great!
My ankles, knees, shins hate me when I'm running. If it's too bad I take a break for sure. It's so frustrating that running can't be more painless.
I love James Patterson books! I need to pick that one up ASAP...I really should do some reading other than blogs ;)
Hmmm, if your ankles are getting sore, I would maybe check your running form. You may be running too quickly (or too slowly) for your body, and not pulling your knees/feet up enough.
That soup sounds great- My roomie makes something just like that in the crockpot, I wonder if it's the same recipe!
I've been backed up on blog reading too! I feel like it has been ages since I was able to reply to your blog. I read it daily but can't seem to comment on the ones I "star". The recipe looks great! I love mexican food!
I never had sore ankles with running but sore feet. I discovered my shoes weren't supportive enough. Have you considered going to a running speciality store to be fitted? They could offer you options (shoes or insert).
Have a wonderful weekend!
Those crockpot chicken tacos look great!!
My ankles never get sore from running, but my knees do. One thing that might help is to go to Big Peach Running Co. store and have them do the treadmill test where they help you find out the perfect shoe for the way you run. I've learned that having the right pair of shoes for your style of running can really make a huge difference.
mmm that chicken taco soup recipe sounds good! i was just looking for a new chicken recipe. :)
Hello! Sorry I have been a stranger, I am finally back! Great job on the soup! Love all of the beans (mmmmm). Josh loves Brooks Brothers ties- they are $$ but worth it! I'm always looking for a good sale. Hope the ankles are feeling better :) Happy Sunday
