Reasons Why Today Rocked, C25K, Frog Legs

Thanks you guys - we really did have a blast at my sister's housewarming party! I was also of course thrilled that the mac & cheese went over so well - it will be a new regular thing I bring to parties, holiday gatherings, etc. - exciting! Monday was a doozy! In a nutshell: work, walk 4 miles, work more, head straight home, make 4 bacon/egg/cheese packets, make 8 big pigs in a blanket, and make garlic chicken for quinoa. Hang out with the family, watch a movie, and call it a day! I ended up at 1,683 calories, 197 carbs, 53 fat grams and 97 protein grams. Here's what I ate.

Tuesday was SO much more fun and eventful! LOL Probably because I wasn't a walking zombie - I'm such a Monday Zombie. Anywho - here's a few reasons why today rocked!

Reasion #1: My Eats
click to make larger! (cookie pics found online - others are mine!)

I REALLY enjoyed all of my eats today - bacon egg & cheese muffin for breakfast, pesto chicken pasta for lunch, garlic quinoa with veggies for dinner - yum yum yum! Snacks were pretty fab too - 3 chips ahoy reduced fat cookies post-dinner, big pig in a blanket pre lunch-workout and a scoop of ice cream + 2 cookies (icecream cookie sammy!) at a work birthday celebration (for July birthdays including yours truly!).

Reason #2: My Run

During lunch we knocked out 3 miles, but after work I headed over to the gym and got on the treadmill. I walked 2 minutes at 4.0 mph then ran 30 minutes at 6.3 mph - my FIRST 30 minute run EVER. I cooled down for 3 minutes and got 3.5 miles in 35 minutes. I can officially do what I wanted to do: get on a treadmill for 30 minutes and knock out 3 miles. WOO - feels fabulous!

Yessssssss!

Reason #3: My Pupper

hehe frog legs!

I mean really - could he be more cute?! Love it. He enjoyed watching Jennifer's Body with me & Reuben which is perhaps one of the funniest movies ever. OMG

I ended the day up at 1,753 calories, 175 carbs, 68 fat grams and 103 protein grams. Here's what I ate. Now i'm just getting ready for another day at the office!

Q: What's the longest you've ever run without stopping? I'm at my new record of 30 minutes - so thrilled!

Q: Have you seen Jennifer's Body? Seriously I dislike Meagan Fox and thought it looked ridiculous... and it was.... but it wasn't even scary it was just so funny. Kinda like Zombieland meets Juno meets Scream - LOVE!

Q: Why did your day rock?

Great job on the 30 minutes. You should sign up for a 5K in the fall when it gets cooler out.

30 minutes is such an awesome feeling! From there you feel like you can do anything. My longest run was five miles in about 55 minutes. (I'm slow and I had to wait for stop lights to change, etc.) Lately, hah, my runs are MUCH shorter.

Today rocked because: (1) made an awesome new recipe with mini meat-loaves and (2) ordered several things I cannot wait to get from Amazon (for free -- yay wedding giftcards)!

That picture of the pups is adorable.

30 mins I believe is my tops too. I mean i've done 90 but walked in between.

I've not seen it but one of my friends told me to. I can't stand MF either. She is what her initials stand for LOL!

My day rocked because I have a job WOO!

Congrats on your first 30-minute run ever! I know that when I hit my first, I was SO proud of myself. What an awesome accomplishment! You rock!

I think 30 min is my personal record too. Well since high school. Back then I ran a lot more.

I've never heard of that movie!

Awesome job on the 30 minutes! I still can't run that long at 6.0. I'm slooow.

The longest I've run is 2 hours 35 minutes for my half mary.

Way to go on the 30 minutes!! I was shocked when I found I was able to run over 2 hours straight when I used to do half marathons. This was a girl who used to be the chubby kid in PE and would dread the mile run!! Anything is possible. I'm with Lee, you totally need to sign up for a 5K!! You would have a BLAST!! :)

That cookie ice cream sammie looks reeeeeeeeal good!! I'm a big fan of turning chocolate chip cookies into sammies, esp. with icing in the middle!!

Love Reuben's frog legs. He's such a doll baby. :)

DANG!! 30 minutes?? I can barely do 5! Seriously. I can lift some pretty heavy weights but when it comes to running.. my lungs and legs don't want to cooperate!

Your pup is too cute!

30 minutes of straight running is great and you ARE FAST! I ran my first half marathon in April with my only goal being no walking. I did it!! 2hrs 29min... not great, not fast but I accomplished my goal.

I love that you prep your meals ahead of time too! Makes life so much easier!!!! Full frog! I love when Frank does that. Usually he pulls a half frog or kick out. GREAT job on the run! The longest I have ever run (no stops!) was 13.4 miles. It took me a while to build to there but was totally worth it.

In terms of the protein- I would rec that you go to Whole Foods first and buy a bundle of sample packets. Play around with various types, flavors and mix ups! I usually make half sized shakes and I always use almond milk. That is my preference- everyone is different and you have to experiment to find what you like/what works for you!
