Birthday Get Together, 4 Miles, Pupper Advice

Happy Monday! I hope you're all having good days so far! I'm feeling behind - behind at work, behind on blog reading, etc. But i'm looking forward to catching up - yay for motivation! Let me back up to Saturday - I finally did drag my butt to the gym around 1 p.m. I walked a mile at 4 mph, then ran 2 miles at 6.3 mph, then walked another mile at 4 mph - so 4 miles - not bad! I didn't have time to do legs or abs though - eek. That's another week with no leg workout or ab workout. Sigh. After the gym it was time to shower and head to Birmingham. We got to Mary and Jimmy's just in time to change, head over to Melanie and Joey's and then head to dinner at Dram Whiskey bar in Mountain Brook. They had reserved this cool lounge area which was PERFECT for watching Auburn football of course! The 10 of us had a great dinner (salmon salad for me!), celebrated Auburn's narrow win, then headed to Rare Martini for drinks and dancing! They had a fun DJ and Mary & Teresa tore up the dancefloor! I took lots of pictures and had so much fun catching up with everyone!! Here's some pics:

Birthday girls Mary & Teresa and Melanie and me
Ze boys at Rare Martini
Me and Mel
Mary and T danced for like an hour straight - love it!
They boys watched - they really were breaking it down - hilarious!
At Melanie & Joey's house
At Dram - private area for TV watching with cozy couches and stuff - I heart a lounge
GREAT Saturday. I will say that my camera died. Like 3 minutes into the night. However, the girls were kind enough to let me take pictures with their cameras!! The above pics were from Mary's facebook page - THANKS, MAR! ":)

Sunday I woke up early, couldn't sleep well! We hung out for a bit and then headed home around 12, got in around 3, cooked a bit, cleaned a bit and napped. Very relaxing day at the house - LOVE those days. I meant to work out, or at least do strength training, but I was really enjoying my lazy day of nothingness so I stuck to it!! I DID have to do some work, and so did Austin, so that worked out well - we both have big weeks this week and needed that day!

Q: How was your weekend? I had a great one - LOVE my weekends. This weekend i'm off to Virginia to see one of my best friends get married. I. CAN'T. WAIT. Her rehearsal is Friday but wedding Sunday, so I get to spend the whole weekend with 3 of my best friends.

Q: Do you have two dogs? If so, did you get them together or apart? How did it go introducing them? I haven't talked about it much - but am in the market for a sibling for Reuben. :) Sunday we thought we may be coming home with a pup and I was going to surprise you all!! But it didn't work out. :(

Sounds like a great weekend Kelly! I know nothing about football, but I am in a confidence pool with my husband and step-son - even before tonights game, I've already won for the week - it drives them crazy!

I only have one dog - my dog is not friendly with anyone or anything outside of our family - I would love to take him to a dog park, but he'd go crazy!

SO fun! Happy Birthday Mary! Your friend Mel has gorgeous hair. Looks like you guys had a blast. Our weekend was wonderful! Launch at the gym and time with friends and family. We adopted a second bulldog last year. Unfortunately....she had a lot of issues and ended up biting Josh and we had to return her. Not to give you a horror story- I'm sure this was a rare occurrence. Just try to get as much background on the dog as you can if you're adopting.

Great weekend Kelly! You always do so much- You're my social butterfly idol. haha

I had a FAB weekend! As you know, was my birthday weekend, so you can't get much better than that ;-)

Also, the dogs- as you also know, I got mine separately. Just got Chiva about two months ago. It was a great transition for them both- but I did LOTS of research. I made sure her demeanor would fit with Brady's before I even brought her home.

Now, I can't imagine not having TWO! They are so great for each other and really keep each other company. I can't believe I even doubted getting another one.

I have two dogs. I had Eddie for about 2 years and then got Milla as a puppy. Eddie is a shepherd mix and milla is a dachshund and the transition went fine--now they love each other!

I have two boy malti poos that I got about a year and half apart. We were going to get a girl but our vet said to get another male because they would get along better since our first dog was the alpha male already. The first week Diesel didn't want to have anything to do with Harley but now they are inseperable!

Please adopt a shelter dog or a rescue dog. You can find pure breed dogs on petfinder.com - you can search by breed, age, sex & your location.

People spend big money on pure breed dogs and a lot of them end up at the pound/rescue. Papers for your dog really do not matter unless you show/breed. I have a 1 1/2 yr old American Bulldog that I purchased from a backyard breeder. I made a promise to never support that type breeding and swore that I would rescue from now on. I am considering looking for a play mate for her and he will be a rescue. A lot of rescues are in foster homes and most likely house, obedience and crate trained.

Did your camera actually die, or did it run out of batteries? I hope the latter!

I don't have two dogs, and I definitely would not want two right now. Bodger is a handful as it is!

Sounds like a fun weekend!!

We've never had two dogs at once, but we've had four cats at a time and they always seem to figure it out after a few weeks of hating each other. As long as neither of them get violent with each other, I think they'll learn to adapt!! Have you looked into a rescue dog? My parents are in the market for a new lab, and there are SO MANY good dogs that need good homes out there. It's so sad to think that some might be put down because people go to breeders instead!

Sounds like a great weekend girl! I love that lounge area!

I feel sooo behind this week too and my ST has not been up to par lately. I feel ya.

Sorry the puppy didn't work out. I don't have any doggies right now, but I want one or five :)
