DAY 8: Tuesday, Sept. 9 Assessment

Today was very blah and did not go by quick…. But it’s over – yay! It was nice to get out at lunch and do 2.5 miles so now I only have 1.5 more after work – not bad! And legs of course…. After work the weather was awful so of course it took forever to get home. So glad me and Reuben ran to the library last night so I had lots of books on tape to listen to! Right now I’m listening to the Starter Wife – great so far. Me and Austin bought a mattress – yay! Now we’re having a 24 marathon. Here’s how I did today:

Calories: 1,370 (in REC zone: 1200-1550; 344 more than yesterday)
Fat: 27 (5 below REC zone: 32-56; 20 less than yesterday)
Carbs: 182 (in REC zone: 163-236; 27 less than yesterday)

What I ate:
Breakfast: Banana and a Jimmy Dean D-light
Lunch: Boca Lasagna
Snack: 1 granola bar
Snack 2: 1 cup 99% Fat free Progresso clam chowder and 1 cup side salad with 2 tbsp fat free ranch dressing
Dinner: 8 oz. shrimp sautéed in garlic, lemon juice and salt with ¾ cup brown rice
Snack: Kashi cookie

What I did at the gym:
4 leg exercises (calf raises, squats, reverse lunges, walking lunges)
4 miles on treadmill (walking 4 mph): burned 274 calories

Overall Assessment: In the end, I had 1,370 calories coming in and expended 274 on the treadmill, leaving me at 1,096 calories – which seems right on target for today! Today went well – although I do remember REALLY wanting something sweet this afternoon (or a cigarette- boo). I had neither and chewed gum and was fine – but glad to get out of the office! I really like breaking up the cardio to do 2.5 miles during lunch and 1.5 after. It’s easier on my feet and nice because I get home earlier. At the mattress store me and Austin were starving! He tried to talk me into walking to a restaurant nearby (SO many GREAT restaurants) – but I was like no – we have to go home so I can be good! (and honestly, I was still in workout clothes, hadn’t been home yet and hadn’t seen my puppy yet!) Still – big victory for me! I could just TASTE Lola… or the flying biscuit, or Il Bacio, or Tin Drum, or Corner Baker… sigh.
