Out of Town Sabotage, Austin's New Wardrobe and a Running Milestone

Thursday Nutshell: No gym. No nothing – just TV catch up time with my buddy Reuben, naturally. I DID move about 40 or so summer only dresses to a different closet - it's officially over and they were in my way! I ended up at 1,671 calories, 232 carbs, 44 fat grams and 81 protein grams. Here’s what I ate.

Friday Nutshell: walked 3 miles during lunch (4 mph), then headed to Viking Olympics (AKA make an idiot out of yourself playing odd games in the hot, hot sun). Left there at 4 p.m. for NOT the bar! I passed the bar outing to go back to the gym for legs and abs. Wanted to walk another mile, but had to shower as I was SO nasty from the Olympics. Showered, grabbed sushi, drove to Birmingham, went to a high school football game, had some wine, read some of a new book (Catching Fire – second installment of Suzanne Collins trilogy– LOVE it) and passed out. I ended up at 1,815 calories, 263 carbs, 26 fat grams and 107 protein grams. Here’s what I ate.

Saturday…. Little more than a nutshell: got up thinking it was 9 a.m. – this gave me 8 hours of sleep. I got on my gym clothes ready to hit the treadmill. I went upstairs and realized it was 7 a.m. The clock was wrong. GRRRR. At this point I’m like whatever – I’m going. Me and Austin’s dad head over – I walk 2.5 miles (4 mph), run 1.5 miles (6.3 – 7.3 mph), then walk another .5 miles (4 mph). Great workout! HRM said I burned 322 calories! Got home, showered, ate lunch, watched some football then regrouped with Austin’s mom. She is so proud of Austin and his weight loss and wanted to do something nice for him. I’m thinking a small gift, maybe a new watch or something? Nope – a new wardrobe! Me and her headed out and hit up Macy’s, an outdoor store and Gus Meyer. Exactly 1.5 hours later we had the following in the car:

2 Lacoste collared shirts
2 Burberry collared shirts
4 Vineyard Vines collared shirt (one that has an Auburn emblem with the whale on the sleeve instead!)
1 long sleeved pullover
1 Northface ski jacket with fleece insert
1 new black belt
4 Ralph Lauren/Nautica wool slacks
2 Club Room white dress shirts
1 Polo white dress shirt
2 pairs of Joe’s Jeans
A pair of Maui Jim’s sunglasses
A packet of collar stays

This woman! I mean – it was crazy! We got home and he tried it all on and EVERYTHING but one pair of work pants fit to a tee. This makes me hate men. I mean really?! If someone went out shopping for me in 90 minutes and came back I would be doing good if 3 out of 10 things fit! haha I’m SUPER happy for him – and motivated to get him a few things myself (casual wear – he’s either in jeans and a collared shirt or high school football sweat pants!). Do you buy your boyfriend/husband/significant other clothes? Does he go shopping with you?? Austin NEVER goes – I swear he would have kept wearing his 36’s if no one had stepped in!

Pics of all of the stuff he got - lucky boy!!

After the shopping extravaganza we had wine, good conversation, hung out by the outdoor fireplace and watched football, then got a ride from his 17-year-old brother to our friend Kelly and Ryan’s house (they’re Auburn/FL peeps – getting married in December!). We had so much fun hanging out with them, seeing all of the awesome work they had done on the house, playing Frisbee with their pup pup and having drinkies – great times!! I ended up at 2,193 calories, 228 carbs, 34 fat grams and 84 protein grams. Here’s what I ate and drank.

Sunday Nutshell: I woke up on 5 hours of sleep feeling like poo. We got a ride back to the house, showered, and worked on wedding pictures with Austin’s mom. Then we were off to ATL to reunite with Reuben, unpack and CHIIILLLL (read/blog/watch TV!!). Then I watched Wanted… it was dang good! (in a CRAZY way!) Have you seen it? I was pretty into it, but then I had nightmares. I hate that!! I ended up at 1,737 calories, 207 carbs, 70 fat grams and 86 protein grams. Here’s what I ate.

Overall: I’m honestly kind of disappointed in myself. I ate off meal plan, I had too much to drink, I didn’t get enough sleep, etc. I’m glad I worked out Saturday, and it was great (1.5 miles is the longest I’ve ever run straight!), but the eats are a problem. I couldn’t weigh this weekend but today I was 121! Definitely ready to get to the gym today and eat right. I'm just over this self sabotaging I do almost every weekend! And with this coming weekend in Auburn i'm like uh-oh! Today is NASTY too – pouring rain, dark, etc. BLAH!!! Sorry for the long post! Back to regular (shorter!) updates tomorrow! I hope you all had great weekends. I’ll post the new meal plan tomorrow along with a home chest/triceps/shoulder workout I plan to do tonight!

I'm moving my fall/winter wardrobe into my closet today...goodbye tank tops and flips flops! Makes me so sad that summer is over.

How awesome to buy Austin all of those new clothes! It isn't fair how everything always fits the guys so easily. My husband does have trouble finding pants because he's skinny so we usually have to head up to the outlets for those.

I am right there with you on the weight/killing all of the hard work. I need to control my mouth!

Holy prep fest! Lucky boy indeed!!! I love how Vineyard Vines has college logos now. Their UF tote bags are super cute!

I feel you on the self sabotaging. This weekend I did exactly that after having a pity party on the scale. You have a whole new week to start fresh though.

Whoa, Austin totally scored on the shopping front! I do go shopping for Matt but most of the time we go together. He rarely buy clothes by himself nowadays!

I have noticed I have slipped back into a self-sabotage mode lately. Not sure why, but it's got to stop! Try not to be too hard on yourself and remember the big picture--you've come SO far and are still maintaining an awesome weight loss. :)

Another busy weekend! How do you keep it up?

I hate boys, too. Clothes are just so easy for them! But ours are cuter. :-)

I swear that if I didn't buy Jason clothes, he'd still be wearing stuff from the 1990s.

I went overboard with eating/drinking this weekend too. Let's just both try to have a better weekend next weekend.

Having fun is fattening! I just packed away all my summer clothes, too. I intend to buy myself all new summer clothes next season because my current ones will be too big - at least that is my hope!

My husband doesn't shop. He probably goes to Macy's twice year to stock up on things. I should shop for him but I don't even shop for myself. I am a lousy shopper.

Now shopping for the house is another story! I can do that all weekend long...

your boy is soooo lucky! oh my goodness - I <3 vineyard vines, I can't believe how generous your MIL is! haha, sorry I'm a bit excited - just shows my issues with shopping/spending too much $$

I'm totally with you on the weekend self sabotage - I can't help myself!

I'm very envious of Austin - I need a new wardrobe since losing weight - perhaps I need to chat up my mum!!

Wow! That's a lot of clothes! And almost all of it fit! Amazing!!!

My hubby enjoys shopping a lot more than I do, so he always buys his own stuff. Plus he picks out things for me... Yup, I'm quite lucky... BUT, then there is the toddler who HATES shopping, so we don't get to do it very much right now...

Weekends are tough in terms of eating, drinking, etc...

Have a great week!

I am so jealous of Austin!! It would be so awesome to get a new wardrobe just handed to me!

Weekends are so tough! Don't beat yourself up about it. Just start Monday off right and try and schedule a quiet weekend soon. I'm sure once you have a calm weekend where you can focus on yourself that tiny bit of extra weight will come right off!

Chin up girl!

I sometimes self sabotage with food too, at least you got a good work out in!

I buy most of my husbands clothes... luckily we have the same tastes in clothes.

Nice buys girl! That rocks. Although the viking olympics were hot- it sounds like a lot of fun. Weekends are tough with eats/workouts. Get back on track- no stresses!

Wonderful on all fronts! I love your comment about shopping for Austin. If that isn't the truth I don't know what is. It's just not fair is it??

He's a lucky guy!

You will get back on track. Just remember that's it's a life long journey and you'll be just perfect!

YAY! for shopping frenzies!!

Bah, guys' clothing is always unfair. At least Harrison has a slightly difficult time because he's too small for most stores like BR. Still...(I wish our problems were reversed.)

I stopped weighing myself on Mondays because my weekend would make me retain all this water and I'd still have a lot of food in my system. Weighing on Wed. or Thurs. works better because I've had time to get my eating back in check. You should switch your weigh-day.

wowwwwww I NEED A SHOPPING SPREE :) hahaa. it is well deserved, so happy for the both ofyou!!

I feel like you and I are feeling the same about our eating. I do really good most of the time and then BAM I kill it with two meals eating TERRIBLE and not even enjoying it! I mean indulging and enjoying is one thing but thats not what I've been doing, ugh! Anyway I wanted to let you know that bc of you I started reading Karin Slaughters series. I've read the first two so far and they are SO GOOD! Keep the book recommendations coming!
