Fun Saturday, 4 Miles, Exercise TV, Productivity Rocks... but so does Laziness!

Where did I leave off? Oh yes! Saturday! Here's how the day went!
  • I made enchiladas with Austin - yum!!
  • I made it to the gym - I walked 4 miles and burned 226 calories. I planned to go back... then me and Austin hit up Best Buy, Lowe's and Sears for stainless steel appliances. By the time we got home I was tired and hungry and going back to the gym wasn't going to happen!
  • I made a grocery list!
  • I made a veggie pizza!
  • I did some laundry.
  • We headed over to Lincoln and Shana's - yay! We've missed our friends so much (they've been crazy busy; Linc has been traveling; etc.) Andy and Monica came too and we all had a great time talking, chilling and having a few drinkies. Of course, we stayed up too late (4 a.m.) Why does this always happen when I get together with Shana? haha
  • I ended up at 2,224 calories, 134 carbs, 49 fat grams and 94 protein grams. Here's what I ate... well drank really. So... 600 calories were alcohol. Shiz!! With the workout, I ended up just under 2,000 at 1,998 calories.
Gotta say though - SUPER fun night and super productive day!

Today I'm being lazy... I got up at Linc and Shana's at 10 a.m., sorely missing those 2 hours I didn't get (my body requires 8 to be pleasant and fully functioning). We packed up, hit the grocery store, cooked an enchilada casserole, ate veggie pizza for breakfast...

My Serving!

My Serving!

... took down Christmas and put it in the attic and settled into laziness watching Adventureland and Australia! Nicccceeeee.

Then I wanted to exercise... but didn't want to leave the house... I decided to try out some of this exercise TV U-verse offers. WOW - way more than my comcast offered. I choose Harley Pasternak's 5 Factor Fitness Day 1 workout.

Satan. I mean Harvey.

At first i'm like okay... 25 reps of shoulders (upward press) then legs (squats) then abs (upper ab crunches) then repeat 3 times. Not bad. All were sore... then he was like let's walk. Let's march. Let's jog. Let's run. Jumping jack time! Cross overs. Skiing. Repeat. Repeat until I thought I was dying. Then it was over. I looked at my HRM. 20 minutes exactly burning 78 calories. I was sweating, girls! Then I decided to do Harley Pasternak's 5 Factor Fitness Day 2 workout. We did 25 reps back (rows), hamstrings (dead lifts) and obliques (sidebends with dumbbell) then repeat 3 times. Then jumping jacks, jogging, mountain climbers, skiing, etc. Then it was over! 19.43 minutes burning 74 calories. Then I got all bold, deciding to do a Jillian Michael's cardio workout. I made it 12 minutes (40 calories) before I gave up - too tired and time for dinner!

Now i'm like hmmm. I could work on the dining room project... I could get Austin and go hang the shelves or get back to cooking... but for now i'm in a lazy space.... and kinda loving it!

Do you ever do exercise TV? I think i'm going to like it on these cold weekends when my hermit crab self doesn't want to leave my abode!

P.S. I don't want to go to work tomorrow. At. All. I would love to just hang here with Reuben and cook! haha

I always say that I'm going to do fitTV, but I never do it. I've tried doing the barbell weight with Cathe once since I have a bar and weights at home...but she switches weights way too fast and I can't catch up.

I think it's super easy just to lay around in this cold weather!! How many days until spring??

Pizza for breakfast!! I love it!! :)

I love doing exercise TV!! I did a Jillian Michael's workout today... Boost Your Metabolism. It kicked my booty big time! I bet I'll be feelin' it tomorrow. I love doing at-home workouts and keeping it fun and different by selecting a different workout each time.

Glad you've been having such a fun and productive weekend!! :)

Your pizza looks so good!!!!! Mmmm. Yes.

Hey- where did you get your heartrate monitor? What brand is it? I know you posted about it long ago- but I can't remember which post? :-)

Also, I left you a VERY urgent comment on FB ;-) And by urgent I mean: it's not really urgent. haha

enchilada casserole... mmm!

i like yoga on demand... there's a yoga on the edge (i think that's the name of it?) class that's SO relaxing. i also like the pilates/abs classes. perfect for when i'm feeling lazy but still want to do something!

Seriously, some of those workouts are super INTENSE! I love 'em for days when I just can't drag myself to the gym!

Your enchilada casserole looks delish!

I've only really done the On Demand fitness stuff one or two times. Murphy jumps up on me when I try to do it so it's easier to just go to the gym!

Did you have to work on Friday? I had the day off and totally getting used to these long weekends. Argh.

i don't have the exercise tv channel, and i think that's a good thing because i'd probably end up doing them way more than i should.

I've used Exercise Tv before. I love the Cindy Whitmarsh, Less is More Cardio. Also Tom Morley's yoga...plus he's kind of hot.

I've never heard of "Exercise TV." Is this an option on Comcast Digital cable? (If not, I probably don't have it?)

Your pizza looks delicious. Tomato slices are one of my favorite toppings!

I love exercise TV. Great for the days you can't make it to the gym!

We have Insight which I'm sure is similar - but I have done some workouts in the freespot. Some are very outdated but every once in a while I find one I really like!

I've decided home workout DVD's just aren't for me. I can handle like a 10 min ab video, but for a full on workout they just don't push me hard enough.

BUT you got a workout in when you didn't want to so it served it's purpose!

I used to do exercise tv when I lived at home, but I don't have any cable at my current house. Sometimes I do the workout videos online though!
