Book Review, C25K is Back ON, Cooking Marathon

Thanks you guys! We really did have such a blasty at the party – glad it looked as much fun as it was! Haha And yes, we’re getting to really enjoying having people over – it’s great to go out and visit our friends’ places but it’s also nice to host sometimes, too! I too love flip cup, although I’m horrible at beer pong. It’s scary how bad I am! Sounds like you guys had wonderful friend and family-filled weekends, too! It was great to catch up on blog reading.

Sunday pretty much ended with the range issues, although I did start and finish a book – Kate Morgenroth’s They Did it With Love. You guys – this was my FAVORITE book club book to date. It was the definition of a page turner. Basically, the book is about a woman who moves from the city to the suburbs and joins a book club that reads mysteries… and one of the members dies. She begins looking into it while it all unfolds and we learn about the characters (4 couples) and their secrets. It was very twisty. Like down to the last 10 pages they were still piecing things together. There is nothing I would change about this book – it was super interested, covered all of its bases, told a great story and was suspenseful in a can’t-wait-to-see-what-happens rather than a scary way. My favorite part was how it was organized – by month, and then with 81 mini chapters (in 315 pages) that would be titled like “Kelly & Austin” and it would be from our point of view. Then it would shift to “Brad & Angelina,” for instance. It kept you turning because it was like oh – just 2 more pages on this one… ooooh I’ll read one more mini chapter…. And then you were done. So, I give this a 5/5 – LOVE it!

Today was clean up day – folding lots of laundry, finishing up dishes, meal planning, hitting the grocery store and FINALLY working out! It had been 5 days – so weird! I couldn’t wait to get back to it. Still have a cough but nothing like I was. So I got on the treadmill ready for C25K Week 6, Day 1:

1 – 5 minutes: Walk at 4.0

6 – 10 minutes: Run at 6.3

10 – 13 minutes: Walk at 4.0

13 – 21 minutes: Run at 6.3

21 – 24 minutes: Walk at 4.0

24 – 29 minutes: Run at 6.3

29 – 30 minutes: Walk at 4.0

This 30-minute work out burned 158 calories and took me 2.69 miles! I continued walking until I got to 4.5 miles, burning 280 calories. Great day back! Then I headed home and cooked the following:

4 servings of Greek Feta Chicken

4 servings of Chicken Parmesan

6 servings of Taco Soup

4 servings of stuffed shells

4 servings of sweet & sour chicken

4 egg packs (for soysage/egg/cheese muffins)

Great cooking on the new range! I LOVE it! Now I’m getting ready for tomorrow – back to work – and all that it entails. I’m definitely done eating – full tummy! I ended up at 1,493 calories, 216 carbs, 30 fat grams and 83 protein grams. Here’s what I ate.

You're doing great on the Couch to 5K. Are you going to sign up for an actual 5K when you finish? You should.

You have been so good about sticking with the C25k plan!

That book sounds really good... maybe I'll suggest that one at book club tomorrow, since it's one that I would actually read!

Oh man!!! That books sounds right up my alley and they DON'T HAVE IT at my library. I'm so bummed because I would really love to read it and have trouble paying for books with our tight budget. :(

Thanks for the great book review! I'll have to put it on my list of books to read.

Great job on the workout. So proud of you for sticking to the Couch to 5k. It's really a wonderful program.
