Fun Weekend, Book Review, ST

How was your weekend?! Mine was great, a little busier than I originally expected/wanted but what are you going to do?! Saturday we got up early, did more stuff around the house, did upper body ST, and then I got ready and headed to my mom’s to visit with her and my sister. The pic to the left is my mom - she's a huge fan of fresh flowers!! The three of us (and Reuben and Gracie!) had a great afternoon just chilling at my mom’s until around dinnertime, then I headed home, watched some TV with Austin and then we went over to Katie and Chris’s to have a few drinkies with them and Chris’s sister/her husband. We had a great time and really enjoyed meeting them! Time flew by and before we knew it was SOO late – wow. This is a MAJOR estimation but here is what I’m figuring, I ended up at: 2,320 calories, 246 carbs, 58 fat grams and 89 protein grams. Here’s what I ate.

I also finished another book! This one was Leslie Meier’s Turkey Day Murder. This is the second in the series I’ve read, but I’m reading them out of order – oopsie! Doesn’t seem to matter though. This one focused on the town divided over whether or not to add a casino, and a man who spoke out against it being found murdered. There were lots of suspects and of course a sweet side story with Lucy’s family (this one about her son Toby coming home from college for the first time). Reading these book’s written from a mom’s perspective make me get my mom and our relationship in HS/college SO much more! Anywho, this mystery was great, although I find myself gravitating more to the side story. I suppose I’d give it a 3.5/5, not nearly as good as The Mother’s Day Murder. Kind of like a law and order where you like the show, but the storyline isn’t for you – make sense? Anywho, definitely going to read more of the series!

Sunday we woke up around 10, hung out with Reuben, and headed out to the lake for Austin’s cousin Kevin’s high school graduation party! On the way we stopped at the outlets for some Willliam-Sonoma/Pottery Barn Outlet! We picked up some great mixing bowls and bumped into our friend Amanda who had just gotten engaged, so it was fun to see her, see the ring, learn their plans, etc. Then it was off to Sharon and Terry’s lake house, which they had just renovated – AMAZING – we were so obsessed with all they had done! We had a great time hanging out with the family, visiting with Austin’s parents and brothers and eating yummy BBQ. Reuben even got to come, which was nice, too! We left around 5:30 and headed home for naptime, then a late dinner, then LOST. OMG. It. Was. So. Good. I’m still on the fence and will post more about it later – still digesting! I stayed up until like midnight for it – crazy!! I ended up at 1,806 calories, 51 fat grams, 250 carbs and 56 protein grams. Here’s what I ate.

Any other Losties out there? I've been watching since the beginning with my mom - love it!

Any one else do ST at home? I like to do it - especially biceps, triceps and shoulders - easier than back and chest to me at home!

Awww, love the pic of your pretty mama!! You look a lot like her!

I only do ST at home and enjoy it. It works for me and I'm not looking to be amazingly cut any time soon, just healthy and fit.

hi girlie - have you read the james patterson's women's murder club series? i think he's come out with maybe 8 books? 9 books? anyway, i just started reading and they're really fast reads because of short chapters - in case you're looking for something new :)

Sounds like a fun weekend! Have you read any books by Emily Giffin? I am reading "Something Blue" right now and love it. It is chic lit, so just giving you a recommendation. I can't wait to go grab another one of her books.

Good genes!!!

I do a little ST at home. I just started P90X, so that's got some weights for sure, but you also use your body weight a lot too!
