Fake Tickets, New Micheal Kors Bag, 3 Miles, Book Review

Sounds like you all are all having wonderful weekends! I'm honestly glad i'm not home... apparently it's snowing there and my office is even closed today -wha?! Guess this vacation day doesn't count.... right? haha Saturday for us was a day of travel. I got up early, went to the gym for a 3-mile walk, Austin took the puppers to their favorite doggy daycare, and then it was time to get ready!

Reuben was NOT happy to see us going again. I hated to leave the babies but promised we wouldn't board them again for a long time!!

Mon’s sister Stephanie came by to borrow my ski stuff and then we were off to the airport! I finished up Emma Donohue’s Room. You guys. All I can say is WOW. This award-winning book was a recommendation from my mother for our February book club (next meeting!). I started it on Wednesday I think and I’m done. I poured through it, I just couldn’t wait to see what happened next. Basically, to not give too much away, this book is about a five-year-old boy named Jack who lives in a room with his mother. We don’t know how he got there or why he’s there. The book is told from his perspective which is insanely amazing to read the thoughts of a child. It’s often funny because of it, which is good because the theme of this book is shocking and somewhat depressing, so Jack’s view of the world provides some much-needed comic relief. It was intense, oftentimes downright nerve wracking. I HIGHLY recommend it and give it a 5/5.
We arrived in Arizona at 8 p.m., immediately bumped into our friends Ellen and Nick (so good to see them!) and then met the guy to get our tickets. We had the cash, he had the tix, we had the UV light, he didn’t have real tickets. Austin told him they were fake and he scattered so fast he even left part of a ticket! CRAZY.
He left this on the ground when he took off. I mean really.

Thank you, loser/thief/scammer, for letting us fly to Arizona thinking we had tickets. GRRR. Oh well, like we said – we of course are thrilled that we didn’t spend the $ on crap tickets and at least he met us at the airport, we didn’t have to drive to go meet him. Lastly, THANK YOU, Amazon, for 2-day shipping us a $14 UV light that saved us SO much $.
Moving on, we get outside and Brian picks us up – Brian is Austin’s west-coast counterpart. They’ve hung out several times. I met him for the first time at the airport! Haha Very cool guy though (thank gawd! Haha) and we had a blast meeting his pup Seamus (a German Shepherd) and all of his buddies at his place. I LOVED Danielle and we chatted nonstop pretty much after shaking hands. She’s Brian’s roommate John’s sister. The whole group goes WAY back which was fun because they were all so chill, comfortable with each other and HILARIOUS. We had a couple beers then went out to an Irish pub around the corner here in Old Town Tempe called Casey Moore’s Oyster House. It was packed but we got a table with a personal heater pretty quick – SWEET! – then preceded to have a few more drinks, get to know our new friends better and just hang.

SO fun. It got late quick though (and it was 2 hours later our time) so when we finally got to bed at 3 a.m. Arizona time, it was 5 a.m. Atlanta time. Oopsie.
And Sunday in a nutshell. Sleep until 11, shower and have salmon salad at Four Peaks Brewery (awesome!) with Brian and his crew, drive to Scottsdale Fashion Square Mall, and meet Erin and Lanier at Modern Steak for a glass of wine. So good to visit with the girls and the mall and restaurant were just beautiful. And Auburn fans were EVERYWHERE - a pep rally had just let out - awesome. Afterwards we walked around, and I found this beauty on sale at Michael Kors!
eeeeee I love it! It goes PERFECT with all of my navy/brown Auburn stuff providing that perfect pop of orange

close up - love all of the details
And love the feet - perfection!
I immediately transferred my things and carried it. Afterwards the girls had luck at Nordstrom shoe department, Lanier hopped in a cab, me/Austin/Erin went to Erin's hotel for another glass of wine and then we picked up dinner and headed back to Brian's around 8:30 for pizza in front of the TV and an early night in. WONDERFUL! AND - Austin got tickets. Real ones. From a refutable buyer through eBay. EEEEEE!

Q: Have you ever been face-to-face with a scammer? Thinking back it’s kind of crazy. I’m just SO GLAD Austin had done the research, knew about the UV light and had met with up Andy to see what real tix felt like!
Q: Have you ever been to Arizona or Tempe? I really do like it here- great vibe, people seem very chill and openly friendly and apparently it’s majorly bike-friendly city and so a lot of peeps take their bikes to the bars here – I’m so on board with this!
