5 Miles + Legs, P90X Experience, Couples Retreat, S. O. R. E.

K - you've officially inspired me to spring clean my closet (i.e. get rid of some dresses.... eek!)! Mom, let's set a date! And prettyface - love your ideas for getting rid of stuff! And Lauradishes- omg - I was like that HAS to be her... maybe? No... I'll shoot her a note but SURELY it wasn't. Such a small world girl! :)

Backing up a bit, Friday
was a great day! I got up, worked, walked 3 miles during lunch and did upper body ST, worked more, then after work we walked 5 minutes, ran 10 minutes (6.3 mph), ran 1 minute (7.5 mph) and then walked to get to 2 miles. Then me and Stacy did legs:

3 sets of Adductor Machine (inner thigh) – 50 pounds
3 sets of Abductor Machine (outer thigh) – 50 pounds
3 sets of 24 lunges
3 sets of 20 calf raises
3 sets of ball roll in
A little bit of pilates (lying side kicks, bicycle, wide/small circles and hot potato)

GREAT workout! Afterwards I showered at the gym then Austin and Reuben came to get me and we were off to Auburn! On the way we stopped at Trader Joe’s to pick up some stuff for Teresa/Forrest, and I got a salad that was SO good (Walnuts, cranberries, raspberry dressing, grilled chicken, etc.). Loved it! We got to Auburn around 8:30, visited with Teresa/Forrest and their pups and had a great time catching up! We went in a little early to rest up for Jimmy/Mary’s early morning arrival and a full pool day! I ended up at 1,759 calories, 172 carbs, 53 fat grams and 92 protein grams. Here’s what I ate.

Saturday me and Teresa got up and did P90X Ab Ripper X. WOW. It was such an intense workout – I can’t wait to do it again!! I think I’m going to try to do it like 3 days/week now – I was sore like immediately!! Anywho, after ab ripper she showed me P90X’s Plyos CD – WHOA. Then Austin got up, Mary/Jimmy got in town with baby Emma and we all headed to the pool across the street for a fun day of sun bathing, catching up, drinking and chilling. Awesome!

Gotta love twinkie Auburn coolers!
Must feed Miss Emma before the pool - she looks so much like her dad, Jimmy!

Ah yes, back at the pool with a sweet tea vodka!
Ready for fun!
Could little Emma's pool float be cuter? T had fun with her the water, and introduced 9-month-old Emma Catherine to her neighbor's daughter - 4-year-old Emma Catherine!

Mary, T and Me are silly...
And always have a blast together!

These two are hilarious together - although we missed Forrest (he had to work that afternoon - boo!)
Austin had fun hangin' with baby Emma!

She was pooped - how cute!

We were in and out of the pool all day and before we knew it it was time for dinner! We went back, Jennifer/Trey came over with their daughter Anne Morgan, Forrest got home from work, and then we had a yummy grilled dinner, great convoss and a fun game of ‘Things.’ Great night, that of course went a little too late –oopsie! I ended up at 2,133 calories, 190 fat grams, 49 carbs and 86 protein grams. Here’s what I ate.

Today we got up and visited with the group, had brunch pizza squares and orange rolls, watched this extreme biking show and then went to an old favorite restaurant in Auburn, Niffers. Ah, how I had missed the Nif. I got my usual chicken plate – grilled chicken, baked potato, side salad with FF ranch and a piece of garlic toast. Yum. SO filling. Then we said our goodbyes and headed back to Atlanta. Sad! Always hate ending a great weekend with great friends! I must say – I am SO sore. Like my core is on fire, as are my inner thighs – eek. Definitely going to take it easy tonight!

Have you ever tried P90X?

What helps you get over ab and/or leg soreness?

Oh what a fun weekend!! Baby Emma is ADORABLE!! Too funny that there was another Emma Catherine at the pool hehe! ;) I love weekends spent hanging out at the pool with friends!! So much fun!! :)

Yoga is the best thing I've found to help out muscle soreness. And poppin some Aleve helps too! ;)

I can't do the Ab Ripper without pausing the DVD. It's so hard! And the pylo! I've only done it once and I was sweating buckets!

Oh the P90x is tough!!

For soreness, I use Xtend which is a bcaa drink.. it tastes delicious and really helps me recover!!

What a fun day at the pool! I saw Emma eyeing that beer ;)

I have not tried PX90. I know many really like it.

I take glutamine powder after my workouts and it seems to help. It may be in my head? I love when my abs are sore!!

That baby and her float are too cute! What a fun time you guys had.

I've never done PX90, but when I have extreme soreness I take one day off and then get right back at it - just more gently!

Awww, that baby is absolutely ADORABLE!!! I want one :) Looks like you had a great weekend! Being sore can be tough, but I always remind myself that it's GOOD because my body is BUILDING MUSCLE! Hope you have a great week love!! xoxo

Such a fun weekend! Right now I am super sore from Jazzercise! I feel like that's saying I'm super sore from Richard Simmon's Sweating to the Oldies, but it's hard! We did a super tought shoulder workout with heavy weights, and I am feeling it. I have done P90X before, and it is painful! Take some Emergen-C, it will help your muscles recover!

I was in the chiropractor's office after just one session of P90X Plyo. And I hadn't been to the chiro in over 10 years. It is a very TOUGH workout! Ab Ripper X kills my hip flexors.

I hate soreness. Advil or Aleve works for me.

I guess I am just a baby...

I keep meaning to try P90X--are you doing it or just trying some of the workouts?

Also, love the AU coolers (I might have to get one for Jonboy as a gift) and am SUPER jealous that you got to go to Niffer's! I can't wait to get down there in July!

War Eagle!

WOW! What a fun weekend. P90X sounds intense. I've tried it once with my friends DVD. I just need to go out and get it but I'm too lazy and frugal

I think we were both like deer caught in headlights when we saw each other! So funny/random. :)

I might be the only person on this planet who hasn't tried P90x... like 1289 people at work talk about it, too!

I've never done p90x, but I'm basically terrified of it. It sounds like it would be too hard for me, especially with a name like "ab ribber." (Yikes!)

Your weekend looks like fun though. I want a pool floaty like that...too bad I'm an adult.

(P.S. I moved to my own domain!)

Never tried P90X but I'm definitely intrigued.

Also, pool + sweet tea vodka = heaven. I'm thoroughly jealous.

Being the procrastinator (and forgetting to ship your package before I went to Hilton Head!) its in my car and I am putting your magazines and some other goodies in the mail today! :D
