Party Down, C25K, Sweet Surprise Shot

Please note: I'm SO behind. On blog reading. On blogging. On tracking. You name it. I'll be reading tonight! Thank you for your sweet comments on the last post! I think Austin was an absolute doll! But I swear, if I have blonde babies it's going to be so surreal. LOL Sounds like a few of you have attempted the food for 40+. Wow... I did it and honestly wouldn't mind doing it again!! Here's a quick recap of the weekend - going to wait and post pics when I have Zach's professional shots - can't wait! (although I took 257... should get interesting hehe). I will share this pic of the "late night crowd" taken with an automatic timer. We ended up with 44 wonderful guests, 17 of which were late night soldiers. Sorry Zach and Jimmy - you didn't find your window and therefore I can't see your little faces!

Friday I worked, walked 3 miles during lunch + abs, worked more and then ran after work. Walked 2 minutes at 4.0 mph, ran 24 minutes at 6.3 mph then 1 minute at 7.5 mph, then walked another 3 minutes to get to 3 miles in 30 minutes. woo! Then we did legs: 100 squats, 100 calf raises and 45 leg extensions. GREAT workout! Then it was shower time and I headed home, bathed Reuben, cleaned up a bit and sat down. So nice! I had a drink/few rounds of pool with Austin and then Teresa and Forrest got into town. We tried the magical margarita, caught up, had a great time and then hit the sack! I haven't tallied stats... will do tonight!

Saturday I slept til about 9 and got to work on partay stuff. Everything was out and ready to go so I decorated a bit, went to pick up the cake (twice - they got the color wrong...), got the meat going and it was all going good - then around 6 (one hour to party time) it got stressful. Just to much to do "at the end." We had waited to put out linens because rain was iffy - but it NEVER rained. Then we waited on ice because it would melt. Waiting on guacamole because it would brown and there was just a bit too much to do at the end there. But thanks to my fabulous family and friends (special shout to Dev, Mom, Teresa, Stacy, Mon and Kelly!) it all came together was ready to go at party time. You guys, everything came out how I wanted it to. The bartender was great, Phil/Lo on acoustics were awesome, Zach was getting great shots, people were complimentary of the decorations and food - some calling it a "mini wedding." Loved it. Most importantly, Austin said he had the best birthday ever. YAY! Lots of fun was had with pool, corn hole, flip cup and late-night keg stands. No, i'm not kidding. I haven't tallied this day either, but honestly don't think I ate that much! haha To avoid this being picture-scarce, here is a picture Mon sent me from her wedding. Zach caught it and she emailed it over this week. I thought it was sweet - loved the surprise of getting this. :)

Sunday I woke up early and Forrest was outside almost done breaking down tables and chairs - he was going to surprise me with it completed. What a sweetie! We finished up and then I go to work cleaning up, taking out trash, gathering linens, moving around furniture - you name it! I got to work on laundry and breakfast for our sleepover guests (of which there were 8!). I cleaned, cleaned, cleaned, said goodbye as our besties left, and got laundry going. Austin picked up a pizza, he opened his gifts (wow - our friends are so sweet and generous), and we sat down to watch movies. Later we stripped the beds and I ended up doing 5 loads of laundry between table linens, bed linens, towels and clothes- wowza! The day pretty much went like this!!

Now I'm a zombie. Just kidding! But I do need a wee bit of recovery before I start amping up for Stacy & Shane's big wedding weekend - I can't believe the date is here!!!!

Q: Have you ever done a keg stand? I have NOT. I've never considered it and honestly, I wear dresses 24/7 - it would never work.

Q: Are you a late night soldier? Me and Austin both will stay up all night every night if you let us - we're total night hours and have the most energy/productivity in the evening. This can be a problem though as neither one of us ever wants to turn in!

I am not a late night soldier at all, I start getting too cranky and hit a wall and just want to go to bed ;) I used to be back in my glory days though ;) Hahahahaha! I have never done a keg stand...but I witnessed my mother-in-law doing one :/ Now THAT was a story ;)

Great to see you guys had a great time, looked like you pulled off a wonderful party

I love that the party went so well!! I was checkin your blog like every 5 mins for the updates. Can't wait for pics. :) I've heard - from outside sources - that it was AMAZING...

LOL - "late night soldiers" - Hell no...not me. Only for special events otherwise I'm in bed by like 11 on weekends!

And KELLY you've never done a keg stand? REALLY not even in college? I have. I used to be the queen...keg stands were easier than the funnel but did that too. I agree that those days are LONG GONE though.

oh honey, if you are drunk to the point where you wanna or will do a kegstand--then you dont care about being in a dress. I cant tell how many drunk girls Ive seen do keg stands in dresses haha!

and yes, Ive done a kegstand a time or two. Ah,the days :)

i can stay up pretty late, but as i'm getting older (good god, did i say that?) i tend to get tired earlier.

I like to pay homage to elementary school and wear shorts under my skirts/dresses. You just never know if the wind is going to blow OR if a keg stand is in your future ;) I did a few keg stands back in my sorority days. I wasn't very good. I'm also not good at beer bonging or shotgunning. I'm a bit of a beer failure...

Glad the party was a success!

Sounds like the partay was a super success! Cannot wait to see the pics.

I've never done a keg stand. I wasn't that into beer during college/when I could have entertained the idea. And, I USED to be a late night soldier. Now that I've been getting up pre-5:30 am for almost two years I fall asleep around 10 unless I'm actively trying to stay awake. :)

Sounds like a great party! The last time I did a kegstand was in college, and I hate them! They make my eyes water. I like to keep my feet on the ground when I'm drinking a lot :)

Love the late night photo on timer! Those are always the best!

LOL! I've never done a kegstand- I'd love to try it, just to say I have, but like you- I wear dresses all the time!! Plus, even if I'm not wearing a dress, I just also don't want my shirt coming up over my head. HAHA

I have done one keg stand in my life. I was actually pretty proud of myself for how long I lasted.

Definitely not a late-night solider. My friends all call me Sleepy Lee because I ALWAYS get tired when we go out.

I go to bed late if I am having fun. I have two young children who wake me up early so I usually go to bed by 11:00. It's been 20 years but yes, I have done a keg stand. Sssshhhh - don't tell anyone.

awwwwwwwwwwwwww- so glad the party went well! That is just awesome. Whenever everyone wants to stay late- you know its a good night. That picture of you two is totally adorable. I love unplanned pictures. I have not done a keg stand. I also am usually wearing a dress ;) I have shot gunned a beer though- a must in college haha. I used to be a late night solider- now I'm sort of a grandma

It sounds like the party was a blast! I'm definitely NOT a late night person, I get tired at like 10. Some nights I just get a second wind though, and it's nice to to spend that time with friends!! Not all the time though, because I wake up early naturally. Hope you have a great week love!!

Kelly, I am so happy that everything turned out for Austin's bday!!

I know the feeling of having to do stuff right at the last minute - glad you had so much help!

I used to be a night owl, now I am becoming a morning person - I have no idea how that happened!
