Also, I almost forgot, I haven't done a book review yet on Jane Green's The Beach House. The novel was set in Nantucket, where mid-60's Nan finds herself with money problems, and decides to open a bed and breakfast. It unfolds as it's told my numerous perspectives, all great storylines. Each of the people end up staying at her home, with a few good twists to follow. I enjoyed reading it - it was a nice, sweet celebration of life, being yourself and doing the right thing. It definitely wasn't a challenging read, but was a great page-turner that i'd recommend. I give it a 4.5/5 - would have been a 5 if there had been a bit more relationship development among characters. I mean, I loved how close they got, but was like wow, that was quick!
I also realized there were quite a few recipes I've made that I haven't shared - eek! Here's a yummy one I found on About.com: Slowcooker Chicken Mac and Cheese. Forgive the not-good photo! It was already broken out into tubs and my lazy butt didn't feel like replating it for a photo!
Makes 4 Servings
1 pound chicken
salt and pepper, to taste
garlic powder, to taste
1 can fat-free cream of chicken soup
1 can condensed cheddar cheese soup
8 oz. Macaroni
Rinse chicken and sprinkle with salt, pepper and garlic powder. Mix undiluted soup and pour over chicken in a Crock Pot. Cook on high 3 hours. After three hours, remove chicken, shred it, and add in noodles. Cook on high for 20 minutes until noodles soften.

Review: We both REALLY liked this one. I liked that it wasn't soupy but was very flavorful. It reminded me a bit of bacon ranch slowcooker chicken, except more on the cheesy side. I definitely liked the shredded chicken and it was fun cooking the noodles in the slowcooker, rather than separate. This recipe will be made again - probably soon!!
Q: Any yummy slowcooker recipes you have to share? I'm kind of loving these ones that involve meat + canned goods - toss it in and you've got 4-6 meals in a few hours - pure genius I say.
Q: Did you have a rainy Monday, too? I hope you had better weather - I was SUCH a waste of space today.

Definitely a rainy Monday and definitely a MONDAY at that. ugh. usually Monday's I can handle, but today was very blah- and I had to deal with media almost first thing in the morning, which I hate. I like to get settled in first- then deal with people. lol
Wow! I really admire the fact that you work out during your lunch and while watching t.v. And that recipe looks great!
ow my goodness did we have a rainy Monday! A large portion of a tree fell on our neighbors house due to the storm- ridiculous. Bah- traffic stinks. What a dinner- I need to make this for Josh- love the slow cooker. My favs:

We had a sunny day, but I was home sick with my icky eyes.
I just got a new slow cooker last week, totally going to try this recipe!

So glad you found my blog so I can catch up on yours now! Looks like a good workout. Thanks for that book review, I've read a few of her books but not that one.
Sorry about the dreary Monday, it was actually gorgeous here but we had a rainy couple of weeks leading up to the nice weather.
I hope today is better!
Sad to hear that about My Generation. I liked it. They always cancel the shows I like :(
if u end up getting a bunch of slowcooker recipes, please share! I'm looking for some healthy, comforting, clean ones for winter meals :)
Do you leave ur slowcooker on when ur not home or do u try to do it on weekends when u are around the house. I"m still not sure how I feel about leaving the slowcooker on when I'm not home :-\ hmmmmmmm am i too paranoid??!
same for the rice cooker I hope to get for Hanukkah this yr..hnmmm
It's been so gloomy here lately too! Perfect for staying in, watching fall tv and indulging in some slow cooked pasta! :)
I first need to get a slow cooker...think I will from CSN. Then when I come up with something I will let you know.
Of course it will be tasteless and not worth sharing but I will anyway ;)
Love the Y T L exercise! :)
my Monday was actually sunny and warm - wonderful!
Hi! I'm new to your blog! I love the food ideas and the inspiration to work out!
I don't have a slow cooker, so no good recipes to share. :-\
Our Monday wasn't rainy out here in the Midwest. We're lucky to be having a nice transition into fall.
How do you find all of your books? Do you just go to B&N and read the backs?
Aww I actually kind of liked My generation! A good show to pass the time. I love that you do dumbbell workouts while watching tv. Super hardcore! That mac and cheese looks awesome. Comfort food love.
Yes Monday was rainy, so was Tuesday. I'll take almost anything (a huge snow storm not included) over hot, humid summer weather. :)
Your exercise how-to pics are really helpful1 Love the fact that I don't have to go to Google to see how to do a specific exercise.
And thank you for commenting on my blog, it made me smile. :)
That looks like a great recipe. I love using my slow cooker and I have several recipes on my blog for using it.
