Time to Get a New Car, Return of my Partner in Crime, New Breakfast Recipe, 3.25 Miles

Thanks you guys! I'm loving the new recipe and of course - pasta bakes are the bomb. Sounds like most of us like a mix of jam-packed weekends and relaxing ones. I do too - I just find my relaxing ones don't come around until the winter! (and spring usually since I'm sick a lot due to my allergies/sinuses). Summer/Fall wear me OUT! Yesterday was a pretty good day! One major reason - STACY IS BACK! She had a wonderful honeymoon in Belize but now my bestie/workout buddy/lunch buddy/break buddy/gossip buddy/Bobbsey Twin is back! Blessed be the day! Aside from totally catching up with her and enjoying every minute of it, I worked, walked 3.25 miles during lunch and did upper body ST, and worked more. After work I headed straight to the Lexus dealership - time to switch up my ride. I liked the RX, but then headed over to Infiniti to look at the FX. I liked it too! Now I need to decide - i'm ready to buy a car this week!
Lexus RX
Infiniti FX

To me they kinda look the same, both cross overs, both with the same features, etc. - but they drive SO different. The lexus drives more like a car, it's distribution is more 60/40 so it rocks a bit (like a boat!), the seats are cushy and the steering is looser. The infiniti drives more like a sports car, it's distribution is 50/50 so you feel the road more, it's louder (engine), it has bucket seats like a race car and it has much more get up and go. I can't decide! It was 8:30 before we knew it and we wanted to rehash the cars, so we swung by a Mexican restaurant and I had a chicken taco, chicken enchilada and some chips and salsa, then we headed home, looked for more cars on AutoTrader.com, and called it a night! Pretty great Tuesday! I ended up at 1,724 calories, 178 carbs, 57 fat grams and 101 protein grams. Here's what I ate.

One more thing - another new recipe from this week!

Adapted from Real Mom Kitchen
Ham Hash Brown Casserole
Makes 4 Servings

7 eggs
4 cups hash brown potatoes
1 cup fat-free evaporated milk
1cup 75% cabot cheese, shredded
1 tsp salt
1 cup diced onion
½ tsp pepper
1 ½ cups diced green and/or red pepper
¼ tsp cayenne pepper
12 slices Hormel Natural choice ham, diced

Mix eggs and milk in a bowl. Add remaining ingredients and stir well. Add to a 9 x 13 dish sprayed with nonstick cooking spray. Bake uncovered in 350 degree oven for 45-50 minutes or until a knife inserted comes clean.

Nutritional Information: 427 calories, 41 carbs, 13 fat grams and 35 protein grams.

Review: Had it for breakfast yesterday - LOVE it. Lots of food - I mean really, that pan was FOUR large servings. It had great flavor though - loved the pepper and the veggies really helped break up the eggs/potatoes. I enjoyed! I could see next time adding a bit more ham and maybe an egg or something to take this up to 6 servings! (I prefer 6 serving breakfasts so I don't have to make as many!)

Q: What's your ride? Are you getting along or are you researching for a replacement? I've always liked "funky" cars. Drove a bug from 2001 - 2006, then I got a PT cruiser and have been driving it ever since. Now, I'm ready to be "an adult" and get a less funky car! Although having a car payment again is going to SUCK.

Q: Which do you like better: Lexus or Inifini? I'm torn.

P.S. I'm going back tonight to test drive one more time and hopefully buy one - woo!

The bake looks awesome! Right now I drive a 2006 nissan sentra. It's okay, and gets me from here to there, but I'd love a new car!

We bought a 2010 Chevrolet Equinox in June. I love it!!!

I love both rides. SO nice. Were you thinking black for the color?

Ashley has the Infiniti and I love it (so does she). Both are SHARP - you really can't go wrong.

I have a Cadillac Escalade and love it. I'm on my second one and may get a third when my lease is up at the end of the year. :) Good luck with the car! They both look great!

That Infiniti IS Sharp!

I have a 2009 Honda Accord Coupe. I just love two door Honda's. I'm sure you don't want a two door- but for this single lady, it's perfect! A good balance of sporty and hot IMO. haha

But now you've got me eyeballing that Infinit for reaaall.

Currently driving a Ford Explorer (with 3rd row, for those pesky kids.) My new-to-me Land Rover will be here sometime in the next week or so. (We buy used, I'm married to a CPA - we don't do depreciation of value well).

I like the Infiniti better - I prefer the sports car feel in the crossovers. Have you looked at the Audi version (Q7)? I also like the newer Acura MDX. All the same type crossover. Audi's a really smooth ride (car-like); MDX has a more 'SUV' type ride.

Cause you needed more choices, right?

Coming up on 2 years driving a 2005 RX 330 and love it! I'd definitely recommend buying used as Lexus holds their value so well. Also they have a certified used program and you get bumper to bumper warranty for additional 50,000 miles. Awesome value!

I'm biased because my dad is an Infiniti dealer, so my preference is obvious. However, he always said the difference is that Infiniti's are for people who like to drive (hence the sports car feel), and Lexus is for those who don't like to drive (so it's cushier and more couch-like).

I drive an Escape and lurve it! Both cars are pretty sexy but I think I'm digging the Infinity a little more. It has more personality and sass! But on the other hand I would be more than happy to sell you Ryan's Jeep Liberty ;) Can't wait to see what you decide!

I'm going to have to try that bake! Yum! Right now I drive an '09 Ford Edge. LOVE IT! :) I think both rides are sweet! Good luck on making the decision.

I make a casserole similar to that one that is so good and filling.

I still drive a Toyota mini van left over from my mom car pool days. I love it and just don't want to give it up yet even though the "children" are in college!

I've had a Saab convertible since I was 15 and I LOVE it. Love, love, love. My dad surprised me with it- I had no idea I was getting a car!! I think I like the Lexus better though...I feel like it's just kind of prettier (I'm such a girl, picking cars based on looks.)

Hope you have a great day!!

I'd go with Infiniti.

I've owned three Lexus' and driven the Infinite. The reason we continue to drive a Lexus is because of the service. It's amazing. They wash your car every Saturday for free. You just bring in by the dealership, go inside and have coffee and they wash it and bring it right back out to you. Hopefully I will never have to drive anything else because I am in love with Lexus.

I love my Jetta! :)

I like both of the rides... maybe the Lexus a little better? But I'm just going off of looks!! ;) So fun and I love that new car smell!! You'll have to take me for a spin in it!! ;)

haha You guys are about as 50/50 as me!! LOL

Yes, I'm thinking black as color (or light or dark gray - maybe silver).

We're 'previously owned' as well - can't handle the immediate depreciation so i'm looking at 2007's and 2008's!

On my way there soon - WISH ME LUCK, and thanks for the bloggy help and for sharing your rides - love it!

I like the infitti!! Lexus's seem boring to me--too many people drive them around here!

I drive an 02 Jeep grand cherokee!

I really like both. I like the look of the Lexus better but by your description, the Infiniti sounds better!

I drive a 2001 Honda Civic. Once Jason pays off his car, in a year or two, I'll be in the market for a new one. We just don't want to have two car payments.

When I was buying my last car it was a toss-up between Lexus and Infiniti too, but the Lexus totally won me over and I'm SOOO happy with my decision. I don't drive SUVs though because I'm a terrible driver, so I can't really help with those two. :)

I love my subaru but a Lexus would be sweet. The breakfast recipe sounds great.

We both drive 2001 cars - a Mazda 626 and a Ford Explorer - both have been paid off for years so we'll be keeping them for a while.

I am cheap with cars - go for whichever one has a cheaper car payment!

Okay, I'm super curious! What did you get?

I have a 2007 Toyota Matrix that I got as a graduation present. She's my baby and does some legit work. (The ULTIMATE moving and/or Ikea car!) Oh, and the gas mileage is amazing -- especially helpful when driving from DC to Atlanta.

Also, I thought "War Damn Dawg" was hilarious! I've never met someone who cheers for both Auburn and UGA. Lol, as long as it's not Florida... :)

Those are both such gorgeous cars!! But I do lean towards the Lexus. My mom has driven the SUV for years and it's so easy to drive and very dependable!

PS that casserole looks amazing!! Breakfast is my favorite meal, so I will have to try that out!
