Baby Shower Part Dos: The Friends & The Food; New Pasta Recipe

Thanks for your sweet comments on my sister's shower pics! I posted decor from before the shower - so here is the actual shower pics!

The Friends

late night shots for the boys (yes, the photos are out of order - I apologize in advance!)
Linc, Brian and Austin being goofy
The ladies with Devie and baby Dane
Dev & Zach with their great neighbors
Kinect downstairs was a huge hit! Think the boys are playing table tennis here
Family pic!
The soon-to-be parents - SO cute!
They got so many wonderful gifts from their friends and family!
Loved the monogrammed cloths!
Wonderful group
Gift opening
Hehe their faces are so cute here
Devie and her pile of gifts for baby Dane
Me and Devie
I mean really - buddy is going to have everything! Such generous gifts from great friends - I believe we ended up with a little over 30 wonderful guests.
I'm telling you - HUGE hit that Kinect
The preggos! All with boys - due in March and May
Between the new heater and the chiminea the boys spent a lot of time outdoors!
My besties!
Auburn Pike reunion :)

Two guests brought this beautiful diaper cake - I mean WOW - their were clothes, pacifers and more all sewn in!

The Food & Drink

Some of the food - the menu? 2 salads, 3 pastas and bread!
Yum
The pastas went over well!
As did the salads (same salad - one with bacon and one without for our non-meat-eating buddies)
hehe
Part of the drink station
And of course the sweets
The little fellas went FAST; Flavors included Champagne (sweet champagne cake topped with champagne buttercream frosting) and Chocolate Chip (chocolate cake w/chocolate chips baked in topped w/chocolate frosting). My friend Brittany's business Cocktail Cupcakes made them!!
WONDERFUL time - I think everyone had a great time, and most importantly Zach and Devon seemed to have a blast. I loved hosting everyone but as usual regretted how fast it went and how I felt like I didn't get to spend as much time visiting with everyone as I could have. What are you going to do? I think that's just part of it. The bad part as the rest is SO fun!

As you can imagine, I CRASHED on Saturday (after cleaning up), and got up Sunday around 10 a.m. We hung out with our overnight guests - the usual suspects: Mary/Jimmy and Teresa/Forrest. We also had a special guest - Mary & Jimmy's 1-year-old Emma - a total doll and so fun to be around. We all hung out, had breakfast and played Kinect until everyone had to go. Sad. Then it was just clean up, clean up and more clean up, laundry, napping and blogging - a pretty lovely Sunday!

Q: Have you ever hosted a party? If so, what was your favorite and least favorite part? I love it all - the planning, the inspiration boards, getting the menu together, choosing invitations, etc. All I don't like? Cleaning up! haha And not being able to spend as much time with each guest as I want. I feel like i'm fluttering around the whole time and not relaxing enough!

Q: Have you ever had Spaghetti Carbonara? I never had... but I made some last night and you guys? I'M A FAN. Check it out:
Adapted by Dinner at Christina’s
Makes 4 Servings

Nutritional Information: 460 calories, 58 carbs, 13 fat grams and 30 protein grams.

Review: We loved it! I would never in a million years think that eggs and parm would make such a yummy, thick, rich pasta sauce - I was pretty fascinated by that! This recipe was super easy to cook and I was pleased that it had so much protein even though it wasn't my usual 1 pound of meat recipe. Also, CHEAP. Estimation: $1 box of pasta, $.25 eggs, $.75 parmesan serving, $1 bacon serving, $.15 garlic/pepper/salt serving = $3.15 for entire recipe or $.78 per serving and let me tell you - it was FILLING! I'm a huge fan and will be making this easy, flavorful pasta dish again!

Check out the recipe on Healthified Kitchen!

I hosted a bridal shower for my sister in law and made ALL the food. I did a tea and made tons of tea sandwiches, scones and other little stuff. I cooked for 2 days. It was so worth it...the food was AMAZING! Go me! :)
The baby shower looked like so much fun! Everything looked delicious!

Everything looks fantastic. You did an awesome job. I've hosted many parties. I think the only thing I don't like is just stressing about making sure everything is going to be ready on time and go smoothly.
