Lovely Saturday = My Sister's First Baby Shower, South Carolina Wedding

hehe I promise I wouldn't know what Kinect was if I wasn't married to a gamer! To fill in those who don't know, it's a video game through xBox live where your body is the controller. It's kind of insane - very cool. Here's a short video if you're interested in seeing what it's about.
It's pretty fun! Anywho, yesterday was a great day! I slept in, got ready, then headed to Decatur for my sister's first baby shower. It was wonderful to see her and my mom, and to be with so many fabulous ladies who support my sister wholeheartedly. I enjoyed it and took TONS of pics, especially since her photographer husband couldn't be there since it was ladies only! Here are some pics:

my sister - the happy mom-to-be!
Present time
Mom recorded the gifts
my sis and another prego :)
she is really just glowing!
The food was great! Loved the soups - perfect weather
This gift included a hat that her husband's grandmother made for him!
So cute!
Fabulous desserts
And a lovely candy bar
cute decor!
The mom-to-be, her mom and sister and her mother- and sister-in-law
Mom, Sis and me
Katie and baby Bowen - he will be just a few months older than my sis's baby boy!
Great guest book/piggy bank for Dane!
So many happy guests
Beautiful snowy backdrop

Wonderful shower indeed! Afterwards, I drove straight home from Decatur, changed dresses and headed to Greenville, South Carolina to celebrate Andrew and Laura Anne's wedding. Their reception was at this VERY cool location called Zen. It was loft style and contemporary with a cool lounge area and great space. They had a wonderful turn-out of friends and family, and we enjoyed celebrating with them! I also enjoyed seeing the usual suspects like Andy and Mon, and people I rarely get to see like Katie and Laura - so fun to visit!

Groom's cake - WAR EAGLE!

After the wedding we headed back to Atlanta around 11:30 p.m., and got in around 1:30 a.m. and went straight to bed - wonderful, albeit LONG, day!

Q: What are you up to today? I'm having a lazy day at the house - rest, rest and more rest!

Q: Do you like baby showers? I know we've talked weddings - but not baby showers. I have to admit, I think they're a lot of fun, although I wish the baby was there. I know that would partially defeat the purpose - but I think it would be fun to have the little baby there!

Party animal this weekend ;) Your sister looks FABULOUS and WHAT a shower! The food, the gifts, the decor- love it all. The wedding looks like fun too. Your dress is cute (as per usual ;)). And I can't say enough about the grooms cake. Today has been a busy day! I cleaned this morning, Josh & I took Frank for a walk, and now I'm doing work & watching my pats

I'm baking and doing chores today. Boooo!

I'm pretty uncomfortable at baby showers, but I don't have many friends who are pregnant yet. I've only been to ones for my parents' friends or whatnot. I really hate when you have to play weird games...

Wow, you're a busy girl! So many happy celebrations!
Baby Showers are fine...I'm just not a big fan of the silly games that are played sometimes. :)

This might come as a surprise to you, but YOU were at the baby shower my friends had for me after I had you. LOL There are pictures in one of the albums in Enterprise. :)

There was even a little white cake with pink frosting and booties and your name on the cake. :)

I had a great time hanging out with you. Thanks for taking all the pictures. :)

p.s. SOOOO glad we didn't play any games!!!! I don't like 'em!

Looks like the shower was a success! How great. I really don't care for baby showers, but have thrown a few. My faves were for my sister of course. There's something so special about that. Love the pictures of you at the wedding. So cute!

Oooh that game looks so fun!! I'm not one for video games, but I love ones where you have to move- like Wii!

Both the shower and wedding look beautiful. I haven't been to many baby showers outside of my family members', but hey, I love any excuse to eat cake and celebrate something!!

Can I just say that I love that room full of windows - gorgeous looking outside - love bright rooms!

So exciting - I had my baby shower on March 1 and Hannah was born exactly 1 week later two weeks early!

And now she's going to be 19 in March - where does the time go?

Glad you had an awesome weekend!

I'm working today...booo!

I am hosting my sister's baby shower next month and I like the idea of candy bar that I saw from your pictures. I might do candy/cookies bar if I have time to bake.

You and your friends look beautiful. I got to hangout with my high school friends this weekend so it was fun.
