Breakfast Pie, Home Decor Switcharoos, The Mondays

Hi everyone! So I totally had the Mondays yesterday. Wow. I was in a horrible, funky mood, felt under the weather all day and just BLAH. I tried to snap out of it several times (unfortunately exercising wasn't one of my attempts...) but what are you going to do? Anyway? Here's yesterday:

Had an amazing breakfast I've been loving....

Sausage and Spinach Breakfast Pie
Makes 6 Servings
Adapted from Healthy Cooking Magazine

Nutritional Information: 292 calories, 32 carbs, 9 fat grams and 21 protein grams.

Review: We loved this. It really tasted SO bad for you - the pie crust did this I think, but it congealed so nicely, the sausage added nice heat, and the cheeses made the eggs taste "real" if that makes sense. It really blended well and was a great pie. It also reheated VERY well - tasted almost as fresh as the first time. When I bought the pies they came with two, so I hope to try another blend with ham or turkey, or maybe even a Mexican-inspired one with salsa and/or beans. Very exciting to just put items into a pre-made pie! I recommend trying this recipe, or your own variation.

One Serving

Worked.... worked more.... went out during lunch to run errands (Homegoods to look at lamps, Wal-Mart for more pantry organizers, Office Depot for labels for my spice jars, etc.) Then I just worked more and headed home, where I moved some art around because of THIS:
I've been eying it for a while - I just love it. It's a 40" square - so a pretty substantial piece of wall art. It's wrapped on canvas. I wanted it so bad, but wasn't crazy about the $300 price tag. Here is is on their site.

But never fear, when there's a coupon there's a way. I received a 20% off entire purchase for Ballard Designs Back Lots (outlet). I headed over and there, in great condition, marked down to $223 (before tax). So with my 20% off it was still $178. Not cheap enough yet. However, I went back and wall art was 20% off, and then another 20% off with the coupon. Yes, I purchased for $143 (before tax). That's what I call a bargain, right? Heart! Here's a pic I took of it in my casa - just hung it last night!

New wall art
Old wall decor
I think I need to take new pictures of this - I like it MUCH better in person - it almost seems bare in pictures?? I dunno! Moving on... Then it was like, what do we do with the old wall decor? Well put it in a guest room!

Old guest room
Enter idea I saw at Pottery Barn
Welcome to to the new guest room
So what did this have to do with that piece of wall decor? There it is! And it kind of goes with the swirly pattern on that PB pillow!
And on over to the corner where my favorite little chair sits - loves it
After the exciting home changes, I just ate dinner, blogged and watched TV with the fam! Not a bad day - but I do wish i'd exercised. :(

Q: What's your favorite home decor store? Do you copy their ideas? I like so many but my absolute favorites are probably Pottery Barn, Ikea and West Elm! And I LOVE copying their ideas. I walk through the store with a camera and snap things I like then later when i'm like 'what should I do with that wall?' I'm ready to go!

Q: Have you ever had a breakfast pie? I had gotten one from Whole Foods one time to bring to the late last summer and LOVED it. Honestly never thought i'd make one of my own but apparently it was

its great that you can use wall art in different rooms instead of putting them away in the attic or storage. the guest bedroom looks really cozy and love the subtle touches of feminine colors :)

I love making breakfast pies! They are so easy. One of my favorites is with proscuttio and mozz cheese or ham and tomato. So easy and yum!

I love your design style. I have a folder in my e-mail specifically for decorating ideas. Once I move I plan on trying some new things. My boyfriend doesn't know what he's in for. ;)

I've never made a breakfast pie, but this one looks yummy and I intend on giving it a shot. Thanks for sharing!

PS: I posted a pic of the Nora Roberts books, I told you about, on my site the other day. They are a cute read.

I loved this post. That quiche looks amazing and something I haven't had in a long time.

The new wall art really warms up that wall, gave it depth too.

Very adorable quest room and what a difference those pictures made.

I love to go to model homes and see how they are decorated, also Crate and Barrel, Pottery Barn and some local furniture stores.
