Progress Pics....

So... I was able to pull up a few of these bad boys! I'll be honest- most of the pics in the last year I was very particular about (waist up only; taken from a high shot; etc.) so I wouldn't look so big! haha I'm vain that way - and I own it. Anyway - here is what i've got... eeeeek!

Towards the End of my Honeymoon February 2008: 138 Pounds

After my honeymoon I was like that's it - i'm over being this size. I joined a gym in April and went from doing nothing to working out 4-5 days per week with my friend Monica. I did 3 miles cardio/day and strength training 3 days/week. This picture was taken Labor Day weekend - two days before I started the blog.

Labor Day Weekend, August 29, 2008: 136 Pounds

When I decided to start the blog (following this vacation) I took some progress pics so I would have something to compare my 115-pound self to (my goal self). Here are some taken the day before I started the blog.

August 31: 135 Pounds

I started seeing results in September and I saw them QUICK - losing 10 pounds that month (which I credit to the blog and Spark People - calorie tracking!). This photo was taken on September 27, a meer 27 days after the picture above, but 9.5 pounds less on my frame.

September 27: 126.5 Pounds

I kept on working and lost a few more pounds. Here is one on October 11 at 124 pounds (back in Auburn again).

October 11: 124 pounds

Lost a few more the next few weeks...I know it's not the best photo - but the rest are in coats or in large groups! I can mostly tell in my face here...

October 25: 121 Pounds

Now i'm at 117.5 (today - i've been bouncing between this and 118/119 for a week or so). Here are some pics taken this morning, Dec. 24, 2008.

Yes - I am a big old cheeseball. I'm also excited because I just got 4" taken off my hair and i'm loving the shorter length! Here are some 'before and afters' - the 'afters' were taken this morning!

The dress kind of swallowed me now.... Sad, too, because when I bought it I had it altered!

I could really tell here...

These were my FAVORITE Hudson jeans.... mostly because it got to a point when these were the only ones that fit comfortably. Now - they just hang!

The dress from my honeymoon was so loose! I tried tightening the halter but it just hung there stupidly. The first 'after' picture is me showing the excess fabric and the second one is me attempting to show you the extra!

I think my legs are slowly slimming up. I'm pretty straight up and down but a bit of a pear so my legs (and butt!) will be the last to shape up.

So - what do you think?! I know the 'befores' weren't the best... I never thought to to do them until August - and by then i'd been working out regularly for over 4 months! But again, I didn't start Spark People until September 2 and that's when I really started tracking and losing. Anyway, I hope you can tell a difference!

Oh real quick - Austin wasn't too interesting in participating in the before and afters - but here is a couple of afters and a before i snagged!! He's holding steady at 178/179 (he's 6'2") - i'm so proud of him! (if you click on the picture below and it gets larger you can really tell!)

UPDATE February 7, 2009

These are me as of 2/7 at 114.5 (compared to August 2008 at far left and December 2008 in the middle).

I can't tell a HUGE difference, but really - we're talking August, to December to February.

More comparison pics... (August 2008 - 135 pounds, December 2008 - 117.5 pounds, February 2009 - 114.5 pounds)

That's it for now!!

*Trying to think straight ..what was I thinking buying drums for my daughter for Christmas!!!??*

Anyway ... you have worked hard and boy, can you see the results! You look absolutely wonderful, of course you did before as well, but wow!

I love seeing the progress in the same clothes .... makes it was more obvious.

Well done, and really thanks for sharing!

Oh and your hubby looks fantastic too, well done to him!

Kelly: Thanks so much. :) I don't mind at all - thanks for thinking of me!

Melting Lisa: Thanks! haha I don't know... I couldn't handle it! Me and Austin were in costco last weekend and they had a drumset on display and kids were approaching it and we RAN! haha I'm so glad you can notice the results - sometimes i'm like I FEEL better but can you tell? I really do feel great - and so does Austin! I'll tell him you said so! We saw his family today - some for the first time since easter - and they couldn't get over the weight loss. Austin said he'd never been called "skinny" before. hehe Boys.

Merry Chrstimas Everyone! I'm going to go catch up on blogs soon - and I need to update this thing too - eek - i'm getting behind!!

Loveofoats: Thanks so much! I really appreciate your comment. 

Krissa: Aw thank you! I’m definitely trying and am so glad to ring in the new year almost 20 pounds lighter – yay!!

Tennist3: That’s great news! Oh yes, I mean it, I swear by Spark People and it’s free – doesn’t get much better than that. At first it may take a while getting set up, but after that you can make ‘food groupings’ of your favorite meals to track your food in no time – I love it.

I just found your blog. I went through a similar situation.. after my wedding in 2007 I kinda let go and got to 136 lbs.. I finally started taking control and lost 22 lbs. I like your before and after pics... I never thought of doing that.

Anna: Thank you!! I appreciate it! Well I started tracking in September 2008 at 136 pounds and got to my goal weight of 115 during January 2009. So about 4/5 months!

Gelareh: Yes – exactly!! You should definitely add that to your space and celebrate it – good for you!

Staci: Thank you! You’re too sweet. I need to update and take some more progress pics!! (it will show reverse progress in my opinion but hey – it is what it is!

I really like your blog. I had a similar thing happen to me. I was 120lb pre-marriage... then the weight crept up to 135lb. I'm blogging my calories each day (and exercise!) to get back down to 125lb. Its nice to read a blog from someone with a similar experience :)

Hi, my name is Lea..new reader to you blog. I've enjoyed reading because I can relate to your experience. People say that being 10-15 lbs over your comfortable weight is not a big deal but it you're 5'2, it's a lot on your frame compare to someone who is tall.

Anyways, I think MY comfortable weight is also 115..the healthy range for my height and age is between 109-125. Thanks for your blog, keep it up.

Congrats on your weight-loss!! I can tell you have so much confidence! It shines!

Great job, Girly! I just found your blog and look forward to reading more. I'm right around your "before" weight (although I'm I little heavier at 141ish) and I'm looking to get down to 115-125, depending on my health and looks. You're an inspiration!
