So little sweet baby Reuben has been left ‘out’ on the loose in the loft for the last few weeks (as opposed to being in a HUGE bathroom with a baby gate). We thought we’d try it because we know the little guy LOVES our bed, and has even mastered getting just enough speed to hurdle himself onto the bench at the foot of the bed, before using it as a springboard to POP onto the bed (it’s hilarious – he does three quick circle laps before literally vaulting himself into the air). Things were going good… but then he started #2ing by the door. Like, “screw you guys for leaving me alone – here’s what I think about THAT.” Okay, fine, we’ll clean your poo every once in a while. Now he’s using the entryway as his litter box, #1 and #2 – almost every day. The end. Game over. You had your chance little man and now it’s time to go back to your (seriously) huge bathroom. We got the baby gate out of the closet this morning and he started shaking. Uncontrollably. Man he’s good… Me and Austin went in “his room” together and showed him all of his toys and laid out his favorite blankie and turned on his soft lamp light so he could sleepie all day… but he still shook and cowered. Sigh. We left and (clearly) I still feel guilty about it. But I can’t do it. There’s only so much shit I can handle every day.
P.S. That pic was taken a while back – but to me it looks like mischievous Reuben who just pooed in the corner of your closet. hehe
