Birthday, Funny Book, Great Workout and Great Get Together!

I want to start this post by saying HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my beautiful sister! Isn't she a doll?! Happy Birthday, Devie!

One more thing... today I busted out a book full of cheer: Sloane Tanen's Bitter With Baggage Seeks Same, The Life and Times of Some Chicks. It makes me smile. Here are a few of my favorites (of which there are MANY).

Alrighty then, on to my regularly scheduled programming. So Tuesday was a blah one fo sho. VERY nice to have all of the meals prepared, but it sucked primarily because:

It rained (goo)… which led to bad traffic (boo)… which led me being late (pet peeve)…all to get back to a place I so enjoyed being away from (no explanation necessary)! Then I stayed busy. So busy. Had to work through lunch and a little late. Got home and worked for 3 hours. You guessed it, no exercise. And a bit of stress eating to boot (grrr).

Saving graces: I carpooled – yay for Jenn! I came home to the two cutest things – Austin and Reubs of course! I watched One Tree Hill (dang! Crazy vivid ending) and Gossip Girl (joy of joys – what is that little Eric up to? And could Serena BE any dumber?). I fell asleep early and got a wonderful night’s sleep! I ended up at 1,773 calories, 220 carbs, 46 fat grams and 113 protein grams. Here’s what I ate.

Wednesday was a little different. Rain still. Commute doubled. BUT the day was much more under control and I was able to be productive, get things done, and take a lunch/work out during it – woo! Lunch workout: walking 3.5 miles (burning 177 calories). After work I hit the gym again, walking 1.25 miles/running 1.25 miles (burning 161 calories in 25 minutes!) and doing back/biceps burning 56 calories. Total burn: 394 calories – woo! Then I ran home, showered, ate dinner, visited with Austin and then me and Reuben were off to Shana’s house for drinkies! SO fun to catch up with her – it had been too long. She’s doing great though - good times!

I did get SOME bad news yesterday....the fridge delivery has been delayed. DAMN THEM. And my weight is back to 120 again (shocker). But, for reals, if these are my biggest setbacks I think I'll be happy? Perspective. Gotta love it. (or hate it depending on whether or not you’re in the mood to wallow, of course). I ended up at 2,087 calories, 167 carbs, 44 fat grams and 120 protein grams. Here's what I ate. Thank you, alcohol...keeping me at 120 since August 2009. I need to make t-shirts.

Today (so far) has been fairly uneventful. No workouts, just work, hanging with Reuben, catching up on shows, working on the hall closet and getting the fridge ready for tomorrow’s delivery – woo! K – I’m outie (channeling clueless). Tomorrow I’ll post the review of November (not too bad!) and December’s goals…. Assuming I do goals for December. I may not as I kind of have a new idea with them. Anywho – I’m out and off to catch up on your worlds!
Have you ever read bitter with baggage seeks same?
Is there a book you look through every once in a while to make you laugh or smile? If so, do tell!

Haha, that book is funny. I've never seen it before.

I have this little book of dogs that I sometimes look at. It makes me smily.

I blame alcohol on me not losing 10 pounds like I want to.

Those chicks crack me up! Thanks for the smile today!

That picture of your sis is adorable; it could seriously be a holiday card!

Don't stress about the 120. I always gain weight around this time of year. I don't weigh myself but I can tell my skinny jeans are more like leggings these days than actual jeans...

I'll buy one of those shirts too....but mine would say "keeping me at 140 for like forever". :)

Don't worry about your weight at 120!! I think you look amazing! And it's good you're keeping things in perspective. Remember what we have talked about to each other so much...we love being healthy and working out and if I am 5 lbs over my goal weight because I drink, then oh well...I am NOT giving that part up :)

Can't wait to hang (and continue to add to our 5 lb alcohol weight!) on Saturday!!
