4th of July Lake Trip

Happy Holiday Weekend! I hope you're all having great ones!! I'm in town, in bed with a sore throat. But that's okay - because i'm off work, i'm with Reuben and I have a wonderful Internet connection + full DVR - woo! How was your weekend?! Here's what we were up to....

Friday I just worked, walked 3 miles and did upper body ST, left work at 2 p.m., met up with Austin, met up with Mary & Scott and then we were lakebound! We got in around 6 central time and had a great night playing with Ruje’s new karaoke machine, grilling chicken and corn, playing games (including one I’d never played – Partini), and catching up with everyone. We all stayed up a bit late but had SO much fun – couldn’t wait for the day in the sun. I ended up at 1,742 calories, 156 carbs, 42 fat grams and 113 protein grams. Here’s what I ate.

Fun game night!

Yay for the new toy!!

Saturday we slept until 9 or so, got up and had one of my new breakfast casseroles! Everyone seemed to like it so I’ll definitely post the recipe/photo this week! Then we headed over to Mark’s parents’ dock next door and visited with them. The boys took off to wakeboard and slalom ski, while we chilled on the deck. Then we had lunch, regrouped and then it was pontoon time! So we went out and had some drinks, anchored and swam, jumped cliffs and chilled – such a fun day! We stayed out for so long – fabulous weather, fun music and good times! We took TONS of pictures. Here’s a few.

The boys loved carting things back and forth while we walked haha
Ah yes, this part of the day didn't make me nervous at all!
Austin & Scott pre-jumping
Good times on the boat
Had so much fun with these girls!
Clearly a little bit too much fun! haha
Austin was chillin'
Eric took a few pics of us - we look ridiculous in all of them as this is the best lOL
We went to goat island in the middle of the lake. Too strange!
They were totally territorial
Eric took tons of pics of the sky - this one was pretty cool
Then he climbed up this camp's inflatable rock climbing doodad!
The girls had fun in the water when we anchored!
Ruje is so cute!
Ze boys - Mark, Scott, Eric (Mark's Sister Shari's Bf) and Austin
Ze girls - Ruje, Mark's sister Shari, Mary, Shari's Friend Maggie and me

Later the guys stayed outside and smoked a chicken and set off fireworks. Us girls stayed in and talked until LATE. I learned so much about them thanks to Mary’s “tell us something we don’t know about you” game. Haha I ended up at 1,963 calories, 165 carbs, 55 fat grams and 104 protein grams. Here’s what I ate.

Sunday I got up feeling great and well rested. Scott made bacon & egg biscuits and we headed next door for our last day docking it. We floated around, did flips off the dock and chilled.

Yeah - not tucked enough but did make it mostly around on this attempt!

Me trying to get artsy with ze flowers

Our wonderful hosts - Mark & Ruje

One of their adorable dogs!

I'm on a float.

Dockin' it

Noting says lake fun like dueling Nintendo Ds Lites

Loved these torches - and the view of course!

Then we headed back and I put together this new recipe I found in Ruje’s Rachel Ray Cookbook using the leftover chicken from the night before – Quesadilla roll-ups. Yummy! Then it was time to pack and get back to Atlanta – they had a Phish concert to get to! We stopped at the gas station, got TONS of treats, made it back to Atlanta, stopped by my sister’s to visit/see new house stuff, stopped by my mom’s to visit/pick up Reuben, and then headed home to unpack, shower, have a few glasses of wine and toast a great 4th of July weekend! I ended up at 1,978 calories, 188 carbs, 54 fat grams and 88 protein grams. Here’s what I ate.

What was the best thing you ate all weekend? I had lots of yummies, but must say I was MUCHO impressed with the new coconut M&Ms – they taste like Girl Scout cookies Samoa. Dangerous! LOL

Looks like an amazing time! We normally spend every 4th at the lake and couldn't this year. It was very disappointing. I missed it so much!

Oh my gosh, if you love Samoas, you have to try the Edy's ice cream. It's the light version and delicious! You look so great rockin a two piece!! The best thing I ate this weekend was probably cheesecake factory cheesecake, it was white chocolate raspberry and yummy! Glad you had a happy fourth, I loved all the photos and goat island too.
