Birthday, 7 Miles, Fabulous Family, Friends & Prezzies

Thanks for the birthday wishes, friends! I hope I didn’t come off to morbid about birthdays – it just makes me think a little I guess! I loved Annabanana’s take:” I like birthdays -- they feel sort of like New Years Day to me. It's a chance to remember all the fun in my previous year and look forward to all the things I want to do with the next year of my life.” And Amanda/Run to the Finish’s thoughts: “I think the great thing about getting older is that we have learned soooo much are thus are happier each year!! I swear I am happier at 28 than I was at 21 because I finally figured out how to love myself and what things aren't worth stressing about.” And Yum Yucky: “Today you are one year older, wiser, and stronger with a dash of awesome sauce.”

You guys ROCK! Have I said that before?! :) Thanks again for your sweet comments!! I really did have a great birthday yesterday! I got up, rolled into a work and got some work done! My sweet co-workers came by with $100 to Pottery Barn. It’s like they know me – loved it! Then I headed down for 4 miles during lunch. (the usual 4 mph incline between 2 and 0) then I worked more and my team came by at 3:30 with cupcakes, chocolate covered strawberries, cookies and mini canolis. It’s like they hate me. LOL

Part of the b-day grub!

I had a cupcake and too many strawberries, then they told me to leave early and I listened. I headed back to the gym and am officially building back up – I did a 25-minute run! I haven’t done one of those since April! Here’s what I did:

Walked 3 minutes at 4.0
Ran 25 minutes at 6.3
This 28 minutes was 2.82 miles… then I walked for 2 more minutes to get 3 miles.

Great workout! Afterwards I did upper body ST, then showered and got ready to go meet Austin, Devon, Zach, Monica, Andy and Stacy at Uncle Julio’s! They are SO sweet! We’re doing my birthday on Friday, but since they can’t make it they came on the day of. Love them! :)

Los chicos - Austin, Zach & Andy
Las Chicas - Devon, Mon, me and Stacy
ze group!

They also brought fabulous gifts – Monica/Andy got me these awesome apple green candles for my new outdoor scheme, and Devon this SWEET Martha Stewart drink dispenser! It’s perfect – can’t wait to use it! (she also threw in some yummy peach tea – fabulous!)

Pic taken later at my casa!

I had some chips/salsa, and made two tacos out of the fajuitas with rice, guacamole, chicken and onions – little bit of cheese. SO good. I also had two glasses of wine. Yum yummy! I had a great time with the group and really appreciated them all coming out on a weeknight to celebrate! Everyone travels so much in the summer so it was a blast to catch up! Afterwards I got home and Austin & Reuben’s gift was all set up waiting for me – NEW POTS & PANS! Yay! I’m so very excited.

See- me and Reuben were so excited!
Fabulousness!
hehe card from my baby!
Loved walking in to see this!
WOO!!

I’ve been complaining about what I have and (you know) how much I cook now! But i’m still using hand-me-downs from college which, don’t get me wrong, have gotten the job done BUT they are really starting to fall apart. Literally. So it was just such a perfect gift with sweet cards and all. I love my family. Then me and Austin had one more glass of wine and attempted to get a picture of the two of us....

fail...

fail #2
fail #3
fail #4 - maybe a reverse fail as we've lost focus
Kinda? Let's try it again...
Nope... it's fuzzy now. How did that happen?
And finally a winner? Or the best of the group anyway. LOL

After that debacle we called it a night. Wondermous birthday! I ended up at an estimate of 1,925 calories, 192 carbs, 73 fat grams and 80 protein grams. Here’s what I ate.

So a great 28! Thanks again, ladies!!

Q: What's on your birthday wishlist?!

I'm so happy you got new pots and pans Kel!! I have Calphalon too and LOVE them! One word of advice...don't put them in the dishwasher - it breaks down the non-stick surface.

I had so much fun with yall last night and was so happy to be able to celebrate your birthday with you! Love you and Austin and will see yall next weekend :)

Oooo Uncle Julio's! That's my favorite place to go for swirled margs and enchiladas. I love that there's one in Atlanta too!

Gorgeous pots and pans -- that was one of the best parts of getting married.

I suppose my birthday wishlist is null right now since I just had a birthday. However, I'm always a fan of anything UGA related, book gift certificates, Vera Bradley or restaurant gift certificates.

Glad you had a good birthday!

OMG. To be 28 again... The next 10 years are PRIMO, chica - PRIMO! I won't comment on what happens after that. hehehe! It's all good :-)

Seriously - love the pots and pans. I have a similar set. I made one big mistake with mine. I fried something and immediate put it in the sink to soak. Wrong. It warped. I need to buy a replacement. And yeah - no dishwasher altho those might be the kind you can put in the dishwasher? Anyway - cheers! Cute pix.

Happy belated birthday!! I've been super behind on my blog reading, but it looks like you had an absolutely fantastic time and got some great stuff. Christmas comes before my birthday (January) but this year I'm dying for an SLR camera!
