Shoes?, Mini Remy Update, New Recipe Planning

Thanks you guys! My mom is TOTALLY the dog whisperer - I love it! And am so glad she sent me that adorable pic! INTERESTING - to hear your thoughts on the The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo - sounds like it's pretty common to have a hard time getting into it! So... I need your 'shoe' help...

Do you love these? I think I do... I'm all for booties. And wedges. And peeptoes. And 'slouchiness.' But booties + wedges + peeptoes all in one shoe is kind of making me LOVE it. (but worried that it's ugly LOL).

I just think I can totally wear these with leggings and skinny jeans - even skirts and dresses. Also, I would totally do tights (even though there is a peep). Yay or nay? (for more info - they're on sale for $80 and I have coupons that will save me $30 - so $50 and the only shoes I plan to buy this year as i'm good to go on all fronts!). And clearly, these wouldn't be a must have but a fun, nice to have for the season.

Edited to Add: I thought i'd help the shoes out and show you some additional angles. These are NOT the color I would get (as I prefer the black!), but here goes...

Now for a mini Remy update:
  • She rolled over after about 2 days. It took Reuben about 2 years. hehe
  • She has taken to tearing her pee pad up when left alone for more than 2 hours. We are taping it down. Bless her little heart!
  • She gobbles up all of her food and water - yay!
  • Potty training is going poorly. She just doesn't know where to go. Sigh. We'll get there!
  • Her and Reuben are really getting alone - sleeping well together, playing well together outside, etc. She is obsessed with him. I can't wait until I trust them enough to stay alone together while we're at work - that was my whole goal - them having each other!
On to yesterday - pretty standard: work, 4 miles during lunch with Stacy, work, straight home (no ST, no running) to puppers. We picked up the house. A lot. I don't know when it became a mini disaster but the dryer, laundry basket, and hamper were full; the dishwasher and sink were full; and I felt like nothing was in its place (jackets on the landing bannister; coffee mugs all over the place; etc. So we did that, then got in bed and watched 90210, Gossip Girl and Brothers & Sisters. Yay for TV.

Today I'm planning the usual: work, 4 miles during lunch, work, 3 mile run after work. I also want to do some ST tonight but I REALLY want to cook so we'll see. I've been collecting new recipes and am dying to try them. Here are the ones I plan to make NEXT WEEK - I can't WAIT:
  • Chicken Alfredo Lasagna (healthified of course - just writing it makes me feel bloated hehe
  • Cheesy Broccoli & Chicken
  • Greek Style Shrimp with Quinoa Tabbouleh
  • Jambalaya
  • Breakfast Risotto
  • Lasagna soup
  • Angel Hair Pasta Delight
  • Chicken Shawarma
Q: Any recipes you're dying to try?

Q: Do you keep a running list of recipes/books/etc. to try? I do - and mine is a mile long. As i'm reading blogs i'm like oooh! Copy/paste/source - whether it's workouts, books, recipes - i'm always inspired by your blogs!

Ok girl...just my opinion- but I think there is way too much going on with those shoes :) But I'm like the least stylish person ever so haha. Thanks for the Remy update. So glad she and Reuben are getting along so well. Potty training is always a blast. The recipes sound yummy- especially the breakfast risotto and lasagna soup. I just made pumpkin cornbread last night- delicious!

I agree, that's a lot to cram into one shoe. I definitely wouldn't wear them, but I'm a sneakers person anyway.

You could totally pull off those shoes! I think I like them in the gray better! Gray is really in for fall/winter, so I hear. Wouldn't know for sure though... I wear sweats and sometimes upgrade to Mom Jeans :)

I'll looking forward to seeing the Greek Shrimp with Quinoa! Sounds yum!!!

I think they're cute! You're petite with tiny legs and can totally pull them off. I like both colors, too!

Remy is precccciousss!!! Charley's almost 2 and still working on complete potty training. ugh!

I'm on the fence about the shoes - I like them from the front and the back but the side view is a little iffy. I think you could pull them off though!

This is a totally dumb question, but do you wear socks with shoes like that? I have no clue how to pull off the bootie look, much less a peep toe booty!

The quinoa tabbouleh sounds really good. Can't wait to see the recipe.

Erica: hehe I know it! I posted some other views thinking it may help. ooh that cornbread sounds amazing - you're always baking something up!

Mica: LOL True story!

Marisa: I hope so... I'm thinking about getting them!

The ritts: I hope so - i'm leaning towards black - gray seems a bit limiting and it would show dirt. And I have two pair of gray boots form last year (one being booties).

Kacy: I know - i like them much less online than in person. We'll see - thanks!

Lee: I wouldn't wear socks - i'd tuck jeans in (no socks) or i'd do leggings (no socks) or tights (which you would see in the peep toe).

THANKS YOU GUYS - i'm still kinda 50/50 as are your responses. hehe

I have more recipes lined up than I could make in a lifetime!! I'm excited about your recipes....I'm sure I'll add them to the ever expanding list.
I'm just not a bootie/peep toe bootie kind of gal. Sorry!

I think the shoes are fun. I like them better in grey, but either way, if you have enough "regular" shoes/boots, etc., I think they are a fun addition! If you get them, make sure to post photos of how you'll wear them!

Glad Reuben & Remy get along so well.

You have great meals on the menu for next week!

Kelly - I love the shoes. I also really like them in gray. Remy is so cute - love the picture. I just got ingredients for chicken salad. I will let you know what I think!

I love the peep toe boots.. may not work all winter long, but great for fall!! And for $50? Why not treat yourself to a little trend!

Remy is too cute!! Good luck with the potty training, my puppy is almost three, and I still use potty pads. They are just so easy!

PS... hope you'll share the Chicken Alfredo Lasagna, yum!

The shoes are cute but they don't look comfortable.

I am glad Remy is doing so well... potty training will come with time.

Looking forward to seeing the recipes you will be making - they all sound tasty.

Those shoes confuse me. Here's why. In Minnesota, boots are to protect feet from snow. Therefore, open-toed boots look so strange to me! But if anyone can rock em, I bet it's you!

Love those boots, they are adorable! But not as adorable as Remy! Glad to hear she is doing so well.
