New Workout Capris, New Rainbow Recipe, Cycle Tips

Thank you all for your support of my newfound cycling! Overall, I REALLY liked it and am excited to try again. And OMG - I wish i'd had these awesome tips for first-time spinners before I went! I found Carla's tips to be DEAD ON and only wished i'd seen them before I spun... spinned... cycled... attended the spin class for the first time. Whateva. I still found them super helpful and woo -I woke up S. O. R. E. yesterday after the 3.5-mile walk, spin class and body pump class. I think the soreness mostly came from dead lifts (body pump) and spin (in general). I spent the day working, taking advil, and then took my lunch to get my eyebrows waxed, get another slowcooker at BB&B, look for art at Z. Gallerie and get a pair of workout capris for spin. Yes, i've decided to spend some $ toward this new class based on your suggestions! I got these:

I got them in black with a white stripe - $45. And yes, I feel ridiculous in them. And chunky. But NO chafing so what are you going to do? I'd rather feel a little goofy and overweight then chafe. True story.
Love how Remy is like,"I don't know mom..." haha

My mom and Stacy said I don't look bad - so off came the tags - these bitches are mine so more spinning here I come! I'm probably going to hit up lululemon today and maybe get one more pair. They're just too comfortable not too! After my errands, I just worked more, then after work I packed, cooked a new recipe and hung out with the puppers. I do have two fun things to share! #1: Cabot's Facebook Shout Out! Special thanks to Wendy for posting- SO exciting - I loved the feedback on the Chicken & Cheese Crescent Pockets and think the addition of broccoli is smart and clever (and more rainbow friendly!). :)

Fun Thing #2: This yummy new recipe!

Coconut Curry Soup
Recipe adapted by Mel’s Kitchen CafĂ©
Makes 4 Servings

Nutritional Information: 417 calories, 43 carbs, 12 fat grams and 31 protein grams.

Review: This one was a major win for us! I loved the flavor, loved the basmati rice and am a huge fan of anything with coconut milk and curry powder - yum! The cilantro was great too and I liked how much color this dish had with the red pepper. It was a nice consistency - almost like a soupier curry with a pretty this sauce, but the rice helped thicken it up. We will definitely make this again - no changes!

Q: Curry powder - yay or nay? I'm a fan - obvi! You have to be to cook with it - a little goes a long way!

Q: What's the latest thing you purchased to help you on your fitness journey? Did it make you feel ridiculous? hehe I know i'll get used to these... right?! haha

First off, cute capris and soooo not looking chunky! I love capri pants, but I usually have to wear shorts b/c I get SO hot running unless it's just downright cold out. As for anti-chaffing - try something like Body Glide. Really helps.

I love curry powder and curry paste. They have very different flavors.

You look really cute in the capris and not chunky at all!!! Glad spin class will be more comfortable! :)

And, yes, I like curry a lot. Your soup sounds great (especially now that I learned to like coconut - used to not like it at all...).

Have a great weekend!

What are you talking about lady? You look fabulous. I have those same capris and love love them. SO comfortable. The soup looks tasty. I really haven't cooked with a lot of curry ...so no opinion from over here! Enjoy your weekend

I like curry!
I bought a Garmin and a foam roller, but it was with an Amazon gift card and very needed. Oh, and I bought a hand-held water bottle for running outside.

Um, I don't care how you "think" you look in those pants - you have the body I want when I grow up (doesn't matter that I am 15+ years older than you!).

When I did spin classes on a regular basis at my old job, I bought a gel seat and that did wonders - plus its small and fit in my gym bag, no problem.

I will have to make your curry soup! Love curry and cilantro together :D

Have a fabulous weekend Kelly!

I would eat my shoe if you put curry on it. 'Nuff said. :)

I love LuluLemon, they are all that I wear to teach PIlates in! I especially love the Grove and Wunder Unders. Great fit and hold up forever! Actually just left the store here in bham.... I am glad that you like spinning. I used to be obsessed and did it 4 times a week, but had to back off. I might take it up again though cause it is a great workout and love the music!

Just had Thai coconut soup and it looks like this dish. I love curry but had issues in the past buying the wrong kind. It doesnt' taste like the ones I eat at restaurants.

Which curry is your favorite? and the one you use the most? Can you share the brand and the excat name?

I think those capris look great. And really, the soreness goes away after you keep spinning for a while.

Awesome that Cabot posted your recipe!

I love buying new workout clothes. Life has slowed down for a minute so hopefully I can get my sweat on. I've been slacking and my jeans are crying. You'll have to play show and tell with your Lulu pants. I'm obsessed and wish I could buy everything in their store!

love me some curry

as for the spandex....you rock it sans chunk!!!! these are all I ever wear. once you get over the mental part f actually wearing spandex in public, you'll become addicted to wearing this stye when you work out - no worries of shorts riding up when your running/ flashing creepsters when you're stretching!

Hey, I think your tights look pretty good on you!

The last fitness-related thing I bought? New running shoes? Oh, and I bought a new running hat, which I love.

Loooove curry powder in moderation. :) And, new work out gear always makes me feel a little awkward. Your new capris are cute -- they don't make you look at all chunky!

Did you get them at lululemon? Or were you going back to get a different pair from there? (I'm thinking about sinking some money in there and looking for recs!)
