My Running Plan, College Buddies, 4 Miles (another 35 run!)

We're about to leave for Charleston - YAY!! Can't wait to see the Velotas's, see the Wise's, see the Fox's get married and more - great weekend to come! This is who's picking us up:

circa fall 2002 at Auburn - Austin, me, Mary & Jimmy

circa May 2010 at their baby girl Emma's first baptism! (snagged/cropped from a Zach Porter Photography picture)

This is who is getting married: Michael Fox (in the center) with Austin and Jimmy circa 2003 at Auburn - we've recreated this picture at Jimmy and Austin's wedding - now it's Fox's turn!

LOVE LOVE LOVE our awesome college friends - can't wait for the blast that will be this weekend! On another note, I've been thinking about running a lot and thanks to the schedules you sent I devised my own, extended running plan that I think will fit with my schedule! Yes, I want to be able to do a 10K!!! Here's my new schedule - what do you think?! click on the image to see a larger version...

If I stick to this plan, which I'll obviously adjust based on how each week goes, but IF it works as planned I'll be running 6.5 miles straight at 6.3 mph by Thanksgiving. OH MY! We'll see - looking forward to giving it a go. Please let me know if you see any red flags! I'm very, very excited! Other than devising my running plan, yesterday was pretty much spent working, grocery shopping for the new recipes, getting an oil change and getting ready for the trip. Around 5, I headed to the gym for another run - did another 35 minutes straight at 6.3 mph!! Walked it out at 4 mph to get to 4 miles - WOO! Then did 100 weighted squats, 100 calf raises and headed home to finish packing, tie up some work items and call it a day! I haven't tracked yet - but will later today - we're bringing the laptops. :)

Q: Have any thoughts on my running plan? I know I already asked this but still, i'm dying to know! :)

Q: What are you doing this weekend - are you in town or out-of-town?!

I think your plan looks good. Personally, I prefer to do my longer runs on the weekend when I have more time, but if that doesn't bother you, I say your plan looks great.

I'm in town this weekend. My little brother is coming to visit.

YAY! You're going to do great at this. You're so motivated and super oranized. It will be NO problem. I do agree with Lee that I do long runs on the weekend but since you do them at night (and not in the morning like I do) it won't matter. Good for you!! I'm actually doing a 10K bridge run in Savannah in December so it's back to incline training. Oy!

And OMG can I just say that I KNOW Mary and Jimmy and I did NOT recognize them in the first pic! Too funny. Hope you guys have a blast! Can't wait to see you in Auburn in a few weeks! Love you!

Excitement all around! I love getting together with good friends. We have very few up here in NY. I'm excited to see how the running goes for you. It makes me want to push my booty harder too! So did you run twice in one day? Or am I reading that wrong?

Hope your weekend is fabulous! Ryan is on leave until after Labor Day so it's basically 2 weeks of weekend for us! Holla!

Your plan looks great! Whatever works for you and as long as you're willing to be flexible if something doesn't work then you're golden!

I love how motivated you are to run! The plan looks good to me, but I'm not an expert...

Have a wonderful weekend! We aren't doing much (which I like)... :)

That looks like a great plan- you can definitely do a 10K!! My only advice is to do some runs outside, and not just on the treadmill. I used the treadmill for the first few weeks of my half marathon training last winter, and when I started running outside, it was WAY harder. Changes in terrain, wind, and propelling yourself instead of having the belt makes a huge difference!!

Hope you had a great time at the wedding!
