Game Day, Slow Sunday, Magical Margarita Recipe

Quick weekend recap (mostly in photos!): Saturday was spent with friends. All day. We got up early, left the house by 8 a.m., ran quick errands and had the tailgate set up and ready to go shy of 9 a.m. Lovely! 9 a.m. shot:

Before we knew it the tailgate was packed as everyone got into town! We visited with Mary & Jimmy, Lindsey & Josh and Teresa & Monica, then headed over to meet Andy & Monica and that crew, then to the amphitheater and then back to Tiger Walk. Busy, HOT day. I drank SO much water - total scorcher. Around 6 peeps headed to the stadium, but we stayed back and watched the game at the tailgate (we had the puppers!). The game was a doozy, went in to overtime, and it was an Auburn Tigers victory! Pics:

Some of my FAVORITE couples: Lindz/Josh, Mary/Jimmy, Megan/Clint & Teresa/Forrest
Lindz sent me this candid at the tailgate with Reuben - the biggest trooper EVER
Me and my besties
Megan is pregnant - yay!! Everyone wanted to say hi to little Ava
Austin, Clint & Josh (Megan & Lindz's husbands!)

Me and Austin got to see Elliot! Him and Austin stayed connected all weekend - sweet brothers

Lindz, Me, Mar and T - this was early on. I had fixed my hair. Why? I don't know - it went STRAIGHT into a pony.

Almost game time!
Auburn wins - late night shot at the tailgate
Fun set up

Celebration ensued at the tailgate, then it was time to pack it up. Long story short: Jimmy's truck battery had gone dead... 45 minutes later we're on the road! Then there was a car accident which blocked all lanes on Shug (even though it was close to midnight) and no one was getting anywhere. We sat in the car foreva - probably another 45 minutes, until we got home at 1 a.m. exhausted and tired. I visited for a bit, showered, read a chapter or two then called it a night! I ended up at 2,360 calories, 139 carbs, 60 fat grams and 111 protein grams. Here's what I ate.

Sunday I slept in until about 9 a.m., then blogged a bit, had a yummy breakfast, packed up and realized my back window had been broken. Yes, on the new car. However, Teresa knew the landscapers and think they must have done it on accident. She made a call and it was as good as handled. Sweet relief! We then took pictures to send to Teresa's friend, headed home, and I finished listening to James Patterson's Beach House (SO good - review to come!). Then it was just unpack time and lazy time. I did run some laundry. And I made a Greek Pizza. And I made 8 servings of mexican chicken but that's IT. I ended up at 1,848 calories, 229 carbs, 65 fat grams and 90 protein grams. Here's what I ate.

So a couple of you asked about the Magical Margarita. This is based on a Hungry Girl recipe. Only difference is, hers makes 1 serving - mine makes about 20 - 24 servings:
photo taken by Zach Porter Photography

4 liters of cold diet sprite (DO NOT ADD until right before event or it will be flat)
3.25 cups tequila
2 cups lime juice
4 2-quart packets of Crystal Light sugar free powdered drink mix, lemonade
Optional: sliced lime floating in jug; sliced limes for garnish on cups.

Mix all ingredients together. If desired, add salt to rim of glass. Pour mixture over 1 cup of crushed ice per serving. Garnish with lime slice if desired.

If you're counting calories, make them one at a time (each has 115 calories), but if you're making it for a large group it's pretty tasty!

K - that's all from me today - i'm beat and really feel like i'm coming down with something which makes me SAD!

Q: What's your favorite cocktail? This little guy is pretty yummy - i had several throughout the day and loved them!

Q: What's your favorite tradition at your school of choice? I LOVE Tiger Walk, but my favorite is probably the eagle flying at the start of the game - WAR EAGLE!

GREAT pictures. the candid of you is adorable. Bummer about the window but I'm glad it got taken care of. The drink mix sounds yummy.

Q: What's your favorite cocktail? I'm not really a big drinker any more- but I love a good lighter beer every now and again

Q: What's your favorite tradition at your school of choice? WE ARE, PENN STATE! Yelled across the stadium and joepaville

I love that you guys still tailgate and have so much fun!! That margarita looks amazing. I've been known to make Crystal Light with 1/2 vodka, 1/2 water. You seriously can't taste the alcohol at all, but it's STRONG!!

Hope you have a great start to your week!!

What a wonderful weekend! Sounds even busier than mine!

My favorite cocktail in the summer is a Tom Collins - I normally don't like gin, but I love the sourness.

Now that the fall is nearly upon us with cooler weather, I'll be breaking out my Bailey's and coffee soon - I need to post it, but I have a recipe for a sugar free version of Bailey's that's really good!

MMMM Magical Margaritas sound amazing! We're having a Fiesta for dinner and that would be perfect with it! Yumm! I'm also with Biz on the Tom Collins. I love them!

What awesome tailgate pictures!! That makes me miss college so much! Hubs and I keep talking about going back for a game even if we don't have tickets -- we'll just tailgate. *sigh*

My fav tradition is the start of the fourth quarter. Four fingers in the air and the band plays a song that gives me goosebumps. A close runner up is the start of the game -- we have a lone trumpeter that starts playing "Glory Glory" from the far corner of the stadium -- also goosebumps!

Glad your window got taken care of and you guys had such a good weekend! Oh, and we need to remedy the lack of pumpkin in your life ASAP!!!

I can't get over how cute your dress is. Super duper cute!

So sorry you're still not feeling well! Feel better!

My fave cocktail changes often but I always love margs, gin and tonics, and dirty martinis. I'm mostly a beer or wine gal though.

So I've totally experience your Tiger Walk...Tuberville brought it to Lubbock. We call it the Raider Walk, though. Pretty fun!

My favorite, though, is tailgating in general or when the band first comes on to the field before the game. They all run in so perfectly and everyone is so excited!

Looks like you guys had a great time tailgating at the game! And the dress looks great on you as well! My bf was in Auburn for the game (we both went to Clemson :( ) and couldn't stop talking about how nice & friendly everyone was there - and turned out to be a pretty good game! I would have to say my favorite tradition is the rubbing of Howard's rock & running down the hill, but I heard the Tiger Walk was pretty cool too.
