Stacy's Egg Trick, New Slowcooker Recipe, 4 Miles

Hello! Happy Wednesday! I hope you're all having good ones. And thank you for your comments on the water bottle and HRM - both were great products! I'll keep you posted on the potential giveaway! :) To wrap up my Tuesday, it was pretty much just work, 2 miles + abs + shoulders + triceps during lunch, more work, 2 miles after work, traffic to get home, then time with the puppers and some TV! Not a bad Tuesday!

My Wednesday has been pretty good all things considered - I just got up EARLY, had a dentist appointment at 7:30 a.m., drove into work and did Stacy's egg trick. Breakfast: So I brought a muffin already cut in half, tossed it in the toaster. I brought a small, round container (same diameter as muffin) with an egg cracked inside of it and a splash of milk and salt, 2 strips of turkey bacon, not cooked, and 1/2 slice of cheese. The egg trick: Scramble the egg and put it in the microwave for 40 seconds. Voila: no skillet? No problem - a yummy egg for your breakfast sammy. I then plopped this on the now-toasted muffin, nuked the bacon and dropped the cheese on. Easy peasy and pretty dang good! I'm sure many of you may have done this before but it was my first time and I think it's genius! Thanks, Stacy!

Moving on, I just worked, worked through lunch, worked more and then headed straight home! There I just hung out with the puppers, did back and biceps with free weights and worked more. Am still working. Blah I do plan to do a bit of cooking (new recipes!) - of course - I just can't get enough of it! Which brings me to a new recipe I have to share!

Slowcooker Chicken Parisienne
Recipe adapted from Erica’s Kitchen Adventures
Makes 4 Servings

Nutritional Information: 472 calories, 62 carbs, 4 fat grams and 37 protein grams.

I have so many more recipes to share this week - can't wait!

Q: Lately i've been seeing a lot of bloggers discuss "love-hate relationships" with their slowcookers or how they are "frenemies" with their slowcookers. If you have one, what is your relationship like with it? True story - me and my slowcooker are besties. If anything mine is sad that it doesn't have a sibling - it keeps asking for one and I KNOW i'd use it but can't decide if a family of 2 humans/2 puppers truly needs 2 slowcookers. LOL

Q: Do you like mushrooms? I have no doubt some of your responses will hurt my feelings. Mushrooms are far and away my favorite veggie - always have been! I'm tres loyal to the shroom!

Love the egg trick!

I had a few slowcooker "disasters." Well, not really disasters, but the food didn't turn out as well as I had expected, so my slowcooker and I have been taking a (long) break. I'll have to give it another chance!

And I LOVE mushrooms! :-)

I LOVE my slow cooker- how can someone have a love-hate with theirs? Nothing but love my way!

Mushrooms are MARVELOUS! I have a thing for any foods that taste, look or smell kinda funny. i.e. onions, shrooms, anchovies, etc.

Yes! Eggs in the micro rock. I especially like cooking them this way for breakfast sandwiches because they fit so perfectly on the english muffin/bun/etc. LOVE my slow cooker. And...sorry but I can't do mushrooms.... My Wednesday (work wise) was good! Buts its snowing so much in DC and I'm hoping I can get to the airport tomorrow!!

It's SO SO funny because just recently I was trying to come up with a good at work breakfast and nixed the egg idea because I didn't want to pre cook them all or do it in the morning before work. To hear I can zap it in the microwave is awesome. I am assuming it will work with egg beaters 'cause that's what Id be using??? If not someone let me know!!

I NEED to use the slow cooker because I get home late.

Not a big fan of mushroooms alone but as toppings or with mixed veggies it's all good.

That egg trick is great! I'll be trying it!

LOVE mushrooms.

You need two slow cookers. :)

The egg trick sounds great - perfect when you don't have time to eat before work!

I absolutely love my (2) slowcookers - I use them to make multiple recipes at a time, especially on the weekends. Now I'm contemplating the fancy new ones with timers to leave on while at work...

Mushrooms are one of my favorites, I love all your recipes that include them, can't wait to try this new one!

LOL, I definitely am having a love/hate relationship with my crockpot. I think the love outweighs the hate (for now). And I love love love mushrooms. I know some people really hate them for texture reasons though.

I micro eggs from time to time- it's so convenient!

Wow, that egg trick is pretty genius. Though I don't think I have any muffin-sized containers. Do you have an example?

I LOVE the egg trick! It makes breakfast a breeze!

My slowcooker and I are buds. SC does miss me because we haven't rendevouzed lately though.

I am not a big 'shroom fan. I can eat them, but I won't go out of my way to put them in a recipe.

I do the egg trick a lot. So much easier than dirtying a pan.

I like white and portobello mushrooms but not really the fancy other kinds.

I really really WISH I loved mushrooms, but I just can't- it's a texture/smell/taste thing for me. I literally can't swallow them, which sucks because I see so many awesome portobello sammies on restaurant menus!

I have a hate relationship with mine, only because I failed to realize just how many hours I spend at work each day and burnt it up the last time I used it. I need a new one.

Also, I think mushrooms should be wiped off the planet. Ick! ;)

I LOVE the egg trick. I'm going to try that.

I too love the slow cooker. And I have too. There is a large/standard size with it's little bro a smaller version. Both are fab.

MUSHROOMS. I'm equally obsessed.

I wish I had a slow cooker- that was one thing I didn't get on my registry and I really keep meaning to buy one.

I love mushrooms. LOVE them! But they are a very polarizing food.

Thanks for the slowcooker recipe. I use ours at least once a week. I made an amazing roast in it a couple days ago. Mmm! Cheers, Rick

Ah, I need to try that egg trick! Thank you for posting.. i get so sick of having oatmeal at work, but it's the only warm breakfast I can think of to create at the office.

I have a pretty expensive crock pot, but for some reason, it cooks at too high of a temperature, even on the lowest setting. I usually start it in the morning, my husband turns it off around 1:00 and then turns it back on around 5 and that seems to work.

Love the smell of mushrooms - hate the taste! :D
