New Comforting Recipe, February Goal Review, March Plans

Happy March! Am I the only one who is like really? It's March ALREADY?! Wowza. The beginning of the month is when I always start looking at how the past month went, and what I want to accomplish the next month - love it! Before getting to my goals, I have to thank you for sharing your treasured objects, and for your sweet comments on my childhood self! I was a happy, happy little girl! :) I also want to share this new recipe - WE LOVED IT. :)

Chicken & Cheese Crescent Pockets
Recipe inspired by Blog Chef
Makes 4 Servings
Nutritional Information: 453 calories, 32 carbs, 16 fat grams and 43 protein grams.

It may not be too much to look at but I swear this thing tastes like it's 1,000 calories - the ultimate creamy comfort food! Other than eating this yummy recipe, my Monday just involved work, a 2-hour working lunch (grrr), more work and then a HORRIBLE storm which meant bad traffic, drive straight home, wait it out. AKA no workouts. Grrrr I also assessed goals.... here goes, February 2011 Goals:

1. Be on the lookout for a new bench for foot of bed in master and new lamps for master bedroom. I searched and searched – no luck – will move to March and add on some other items for the master!
2. Measure on Fridays: February 4, 11, 18 and 25. DONE –measured dutifully each Friday.
3. Organize January – April 2010 pictures for 2010 photo book. DONE – time to do May – July in March. (yes – this book will be done by the end of 2011 LOL).
4. Get Remy fully acclimated into Reuben's room and on a very consistent potty schedule - we're still having a few accidents. Continue reinforcing sit. DONE – baby girl is doing SO good. We are still having a few accidents but they are fewer and further between, she is in his room for good (no more separate “bedrooms”) and she has got sit down!
5. Try out one church in our area. Didn't happen. Again. Must make this a bigger priority – the weekends have just been killer.
6. Make 5 new recipes. DONE – was ALL OVER this one and had no problems hitting my numbers!
7. Make two new videos: August/September/October and November/December. Didn’t happen – will strive to do this in March!
8. Follow my February work out plan. Was modified heavily based on my starting body pump, a new gym, etc. – am going to do March’s new plan and strive to meet it.
9. Read 5 books. Meh – wasn’t in a reading place – only got to 3.
10. Organize the pantry. Buy more storage boxes; make signs; finish cleaning it. I organized it, but haven’t made signs or finished cleaning it – March we go!
11. Organize my spice cabinet. Print labels for jars. I got jars and a label maker – now I need to do the final step – make labels and I’m done – March we go as well.
12. Organize my master closet - purge again and really get rid of stuff. DONE – this will come even more into play once I get a dresser for our room and redistribute some shiz.
13. Make 3 meal plans. Didn’t even make one. I suck. Will move to March.

Now here are my March goals - several are roll-overs but I really do feel like I’m moving the needle on a lot of these and, regardless of how many 'DONEs' aren't above - I think I got a lot done in February!

1. Be on the lookout for new master bedroom items: large bench, step bench for remy, new lamps and a new dresser.
2. Measure on Fridays: March 4, 11, 18 and 25.
3. Organize May – July 2010 photos.
4. Modify it a bit and lock down Remy’s potty schedule. Begin working on ‘shake.’
5. Try out one church in our area.
6. Make 5 new recipes.
7. Make two new videos: August/September/October and November/December.
8. Follow my March work out plan - more on that tomorrow!
9. Read 5 books.
10. Use label maker to make pantry signs and spice jar signs.
11. Make 2 meal plans.
12. Try out a spin class.
13. Get new items for gift center – hit up Target. And take pics of gift center!

Q: What is one thing you're most proud of knocking out in February? I'm pumped that I really got going on the kitchen organization with the pantry and spices - once these are done it's going to make me more efficient in the kitchen each day!

Q: What is one thing you hope to accomplish in March?

I can't believe its March either! But since I am NOT a winter fan, I'm totally ok with it being March. I think you did pretty darn well on your goals! I love that you have goals all of the board (vs. just focusing on one thing)- fabulous. I think you know what most of my goals are about right now!!

For March, I need to get my crazy eating under control or I may explode. :)
That's about it, I want to focus on healthier eats and less wine (gasp!)

Great job!
I did really well with my training and also starting working toward my goal of moving to D.C. in a couple of months. It was a crazy month but I feel like I accomplished a lot.
This month I want to complete my third half marathon, get organized for my trip to D.C. and hopefully find an apartment there.

I love the home decor being on the list. I have to keep a list of things like that too or I forget to look for them! Um, hoping to knock out my first half marathon this weekend - and still be standing at the end ;-)

Well, Ive been going to the gym consistently all year so far. Major. We need lamps too and a end of bed bench. I saw a really cute one in an add for Pier one or was it crate and barrel? I ripped it out and saved it.

Oooo, girl I've got this kinda post coming up myself. :) And, I love starting new months because of the same reason - I love that mental run down of everything you've done and everything you want to do. :)

I am hoping as my husband gets healthier, I can focus on my workouts - I've been so worried about him that I have put myself on the back burner.

And March is my birthday month - so I tend to drag out the celebrations!

We got the hallway and foyer painted in Feb. I'm proud of that. We still have to do the base boards which is why I haven't posted any pics yet.

Time flies, isn't it? I am excited about March just because it is here and it means that spring is right around the corner (or so I hope!) :-)

I loved the pictures!

Hey! This is Sharon, Shana's friend from book club! I was just looking at your goals for March and I noticed you had "try out a new church". Just wanted to let you know that my husband and I go to North point(right up the street from you) and we absolutely love it! I know it's different for a lot of people. We got my parents going and they grew up very strict catholics...they love it now! Just thought I would throw that out there! Hope to see you again soon!
