Day 166 & 167: I’ve Been Married for a Year, Book Review and Calorie Change-Up

So yesterday’s post was just filled with eeks because I’m off my blogging game! (eek!) haha Anyway, I forgot to measure (again) but am going to try to do it tomorrow morning. I will say that I weighed 116 today (eek!) which means that my ramen + pizza-packed weekend with no cardio + TOM is ‘weighing’ on me. Oh well – I was able to squeeze out 5 miles yesterday after work and since Austin knew I wasn’t feeling well we didn’t go out to eat and instead ate spiced yogurt chicken at home. Love him. I realize this probably wasn’t the way you’re “supposed” to spend your first anniversary but you know what I got to thinking, we enjoyed ourselves, we have many more to come and we’re going to try to do a nice dinner Friday. That’s how we roll when our anniversary falls on a Monday during house hunting hell! Haha So on Monday I ended up at 1,782 calories, 239 carbs and 47 fat grams – high…. Again! That’s like every day this month! (although this day had 548 calories of crap snacks… man they add up). Here’s what I ate.

So I forgot to tell you – I finished A Body to Die For – SO good. I just love those Kate White books. I describe them as cute murder mysteries. I love the main character and this one, to me, had lots of twists and turns making it super fun to follow her as she tried to figure out whodoneit. Props, props! Tomorrow I’m going to start Meg Cabot’s How to be Popular. Her books make me smile. My mom actually just finished reading Meg’s Avalon High that I read last month and she liked it too, such a cute fun read! Anyway – great book peeps!

So today I had a ‘working lunch’ – BOO. I didn’t get to eat my sweet & sour chicken yesterday but I decided to eat it during the lunch instead of rising roll chicken salad – good decision. However, I ate the mini snickers, andes mint AND chocolate chip cookie that came with the Rising Roll. Dang! Which one of you stole my willpower? Top that with a snack this morning, a snack this afternoon, greek feta chicken for dinner and a sweet treat after that and I ended up with 1,641 calories, 240 carbs and 35 fat grams. I DID go with Stacy after work and walk for 4 miles. And you should know executive decision: I’ve decided to up my calories. In all honesty – I’ve been at 1,250 – 1,550 calories since I started. And I’ve typically been at the high end (1,450 – 1,550). I’ve decided to make my limit 1,450 to 1,700 IF I do cardio. If I don’t do cardio, I’ll stay between 1,250 to 1,550. What do you think? Smart? Or am I getting lazy? Seriously – I won’t be offended! :) Anyway, here’s what I ate today. Help me find my willpower! Did stress take it? Or lack of sleep? Or TOM or all 3? Frown. Off to watch Secret Life of an American Teenager on Tivo...

CUTE PICS!!! :) Congrats on the anniversary! I can't wait to read a new book - I may have to grab that one. I'm stuck in the Twilight series and don't have the urge to finish the 3rd book (I know, I know...I just get sick of series). A

Regarding your calories, I think that is a SMART decision. I've been counting and always think about how low your intake is (even with cardio) and I don't know how you're not starving! It seems like your body's trying to tell you something. Go easy on yourself a little bit...all 3 issues are stressful and effect your health more than you know! You still kick ass, no matter what! :)

I think that sounds like a healthy range considering how frequently you exercise. My suggestion, I guess, would be to stay around the 15 more often than the 17 and you already know you can do that! By "upping" your calories you won't feel bad if you enjoy yourself a little more ... which you deserve after such amazing success. Love your blog :-)

both the previous comments have given you good advice.

I personally think it was a combination of the 3 issues. You'll be fine b/c you're staying on top of it.

LOVE the pics. Y'all are just an adorable couple. :)

and yes, this 52 year old woman read Avalon High and like it! LOL

Balanceisbest: Thanks!! It's really cute - she makes a lot of these and I like them all! haha I love Twilight too but sometimes you have to take a break and come back to it.

Oh good! I'm so glad to hear that. I'd also like to make an effort to eat 'better' calories (i.e. 100 calories of strawberries rather than processed stuff). The processed stuff just doesn't fill me up! Thanks, Kaniel - really - I feel so much better!

Kelly's Belly: hehe Love that name! I think that's a great suggestion and honestly - i'm glad you said it because knowing me i'd squeal in at 17 every day because "I could." haha Thanks so much!!

Pissy: I agree! I love the blog world! Can't say I disagree with that! And today I was back to 114.5 - such a crapshoot. Thanks, mom!! hehe you don't seem 52 though!!!

Melting Lisa: Thanks so much!! Well thank you - i never thought of it that way but I think you're right! Thanks so much!

Nerdgirl: Yes - exactly - I really don't want to lose more just kind of stay in this range under or at 115! Oh great! I think I have a 'book review' tag you can click and see some other suggestions - I love reading!!

Seems like you're doing SO well! I agree with people in terms of adding the extra calories in for healthy snacks. A banana, other fruit or veggies + hummus, almond butter etc. You're doing so well!! :) Sara

You guys are so cute. It's great that you spent your anniversary the way YOU wanted and made the most of it despite all the craziness in your life right now with house hunting!
I will add that book to my list--sometimes I'm really in the mood for a good whodunnit!

Eatfabinnyc: Thank you!! Right – I think that’s going to be the big for me – eat snacks just eat the RIGHT snacks!

Dailygoods: Yay!! Me too! Haha I know what you mean. I know what I’m taking in but don’t know what I should be! Argh! Oh it’s so bad…. Ricky is “in love with her” now but she is staying with Ben. And I think she’s keeping the baybay!

Thinspired: Thanks!! I know it – anything more would have likely stressed us out and we just really don’t need added stress to go and do something fun! So silly! Oh yes – all of the Kate Whites are great – it’s like a mini series following Bailey – the writer turned detective for her friends!
