3 Exciting Milestones!!!

So… three majorly exciting things happened that I wanted to devote a post too, especially since the last few weeks were all about car drama and recipes. Hehe

First things first, blog world, I'm about to be an aunt! My sister, Devon, and her husband, Zach, are expecting their first little baby in March. Here's a photo of the proud parents-to-be taken by yours truly this past weekend!

I am beyond excited for them and happy for them. It has not been an easy journey for them to get here, but they have stayed strong and focused and are now beaming with pride!! And I can totally tell what their baybay will look like - how freaking cute are they?! She officially announced on Facebook this month, so now it’s official here on my bloggy. I will be an aunt – YAY!! She is due in March and we find out the sex in early November. Fingers crossed for a healthy baby girl or boy!

Secondly, September 1, 2010, was my Second Blogiversary! Here's me and Austin in February 2008....

Here is us in two years later, in February 2010, maintaining a combined loss of (18 for me; 35 for Austin).

Here is us last weekend!

Some days I can’t believe I’ve been doing this for two years, other days I’m like duh, what was I doing before I started blogging? SO many things have happened since I started my blog, most included here in My Story. For instance:

  • I bought, decorated and renovated a house.
  • My husband turned 30 – threw him a party!
  • I traveled to Vegas, Chicago, Punta Cana, New York City, Charleston, Charlottesville, Destin [and the obvious frequently visited places like Enterprise (my hometown), Birmingham (where Austin's family lives), Auburn (our alma mater) and ‘the lake’ haha].
  • I lost 20+ pounds, and kept off most of it!
  • Celebrated one year of blogging.
  • I celebrated my family and friends at weddings, birthday parties, baby showers, bachelorette parties and more! I really enjoyed being a part of Megan, Monica and Stacy's wedding parties - such a blast!
  • I went to fun concerts like Dooby Brothers, Bad Company, Green Day, Jack Johnson, Dave Matthews and Collective Soul.
  • I read 60 books and even joined a book club thanks to Shana. Reading is back in my life!
  • I walked 1,000 miles in a year, and started running. Couldn’t run 3 minutes straight, can now run 35 minutes straight.
  • I became a pre-cooker. I also cooked almost 200 recipes – LOVE IT. It’s a new addiction and just so exciting and enjoyable for me!
  • Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, I met you all. I love the blogging community, I love exchanging recipes with you, sharing workout tips, gaining your advice and sharing advice if I can. I’ve even gotten to meet a couple of you in person which is so crazy cool! Blogger meet ups rock! Thank you all for your support over the last two years. You’re awesome, and I really appreciate you.
And for the third exciting milestone, on September 7, 2001, I met Austin.

Pic from early on in dating at a Pike formal

I can’t believe it’s been 9 years since then when, at 19 years old, I met the guy who would become my husband, best friend, partner in crime, etc. Not to be a big sappy chica, but I LOVE fall and it will forever and always remind me of Austin, Auburn, college, good times, best friends and it just makes me swell with happiness! I know, I said I wouldn’t be sappy but I’m so happy!

Anywho – lots of excitement going on. I just know this is going to be an awesome fall with so many fun trips planned, great concerts, family time and more!!!

Q: Are you an aunt or uncle? If so, when did you become one and what do you like most about it?

Q: Do you celebrate anniversaries with your significant other? If so, is it the day you met, started dating or what?

Tomorrow i'll cap yesterday and post that quiche recipe - have a fabulous Wednesday, bloggies!

Congrats all around! SO exciting! I absolutely LOVE your blog! You are such a sassy and spunky lady!

I'll be an Aunt in April! SO excited! My sister is a step-mom but it's just not the same. I rarely see the boys and they are 11 and 13. They also probably think I'm weird.

Ryan and I celebrate anniversaries. We just started talking one day over Facebook and then hanging out (we went to high school together so fb chatting isn't as creepy as it sounds!), so it's kind of fuzzy as to when it all started officially.

Happy Blogiversary!! Wow, 2 years, that's awesome!! And still going strong!! :)

Andrew and I still celebrate our dating anniversary AND our engagement anniversary! Might be cheesy, but they're special days and it wouldn't feel right for us to ignore them!! ;)

I'm an aunt through marriage but I can't wait for the day my sister has kids and I'm an aunt to them. I feel like it will be more special than my in laws' kids. I love them too but its a bit different.

Congrats on 2 years blogging! Wow!

Congrats on your blogging anniversary. I've only been blogging for a few months so for me, 2 years is a long time.

Congrats on being an Auntie too. I love being an Aunt, it is so much fun. You will love spoiling your niece/nephew but you have the option at the end of the day to return them to their parents after you have sugared them up. I have to many great memories with my niece and I feel like no matter how many pictures of her every day ...they still grow up so fast :( Enjoy the time when they are still babies, and then the toddler stages comes and they're going to be a handful.

Congratulations on so many achievements! I am an aunt many times over, unfortunately we don't live in the same state as any of our relatives.

I have been married for 31 years and we always remember the date of our first date!
